would it be a good idea to field an all scout army?
leader (induction seargent) or chaplian only
lots and lots of scouts
Hey the whole scout army sounds pretty cool. They have good CC and can field a heavy bolter, and sniper rifels. I think it will work pretty well but would you use heavy support and elites or just troops and fast attack?
It sounds cool, id make it a dark angels army so you can feild vet seargent namman for an HQ (Could try to anyway, my DA codex is away till christmas)
Id make it a specialist army list, A.K.A Get heavy weapons as a scout squad with heavy bolters, autocannons ect. For elites. um I dont know, mabey you could use a bigger scout squad mounted in a rhino? You could also make them space wolves instead of DA for a more deavastatong attack.
i think it might work, as long as your not up against the shooty armies (tau, imp guard, maybe necrons) becuase scouts are good in cc, and give your scouts some heavy weapons, like The Venerable Cheese Of Wispdom said.

crimson fists are scout based, right? dont they have special scout abilities that could be used?
By the way regarding Vet. Sarg. Namaan: He has really good stats, and I really wanted to field him when I got the codex, but his models sucks butt. If you do field him, for the love of all that's holy, mod him.

scout army played right within the rules of the present codex can win anyway.
if the opponent agrees and infiltration is allowed it can be a devestating army.
if not the amount of them and there ability to take a pounding like all space marines still gives you the edge.
as for bikers yes they are too expensive as with normal bikers. still a chaplin on a bike with a few t5 scouts backing him up is a good distraction for the enemy guns.
btw i am not talking rubbish i have played one game of all scouts against an imperial guard player. i slaughtered him in turn three i just infiltrated my scouts out of line of sight of his weapons as much as i could and the amount of them allowed a good few of my squads to get into combat turn 2. the only problem was a damn leman russ. i hate imperial tanks!
so it works? To bad i play blood angels, there scouts SUCK! (only one squad can have the snipers and heavy weapons.)

talk to Archon Ganjhsogb. he made a pretty good scout list a while ago that i don't remember it having anything that anyone you play against should really be opposed to.
