Do people look at steel legions as cheesy? Im wondering because I will soon be buying the IG Codex. Also, what other books might I want to buy for playing a steel legion?

Those are the ones that look like World War I soldiers with Gas Masks right? It kinda reminds me of a time when well, the World was at War... I wonder why? They look cool but they kinda don't fit in, only way they do fit is because they need like inhalers or something.

No. There is no possible combination of IG troops that I can possibly dream up that could EVER be called cheesy. Even the chimera isn't cheesy. It's really not too hard to kill one at all. In fact, you're wasting too many points on something that can be killed to easily IMO.

Well thanks for defineing that the steel legion is not cheesy. I was unaware because I dont have the codex yet and I dont know much about the IG. Still, what other books do I need besides the Imperial Guard Codex and Codex Armegeddon?

YOu actually dont even need codex: armageddon. The new IG codex superseded all of those old codexes. The doctrine rules cover everything you need to use existing regiments or make your own.

Just get five Chimera's and 40 Troops, Add a command squad for the remaining Chimera then throw in a couple of Russ' and a Basilisk. There you go.
I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight... razor... and surviving.

I hate to be picky....but they DO NOT look like WWI soldiers, they look like WWII German Fallshimjagers (paratroops). They wear the same helmet, the Imperial Bird in on the helmet and uniform just like the Nazi bird and they wear jack boots, just like the Germans did.....scary eh? So again, sorry to be a stickler, but I take my history seriously!!! LOL...
