i have 4 men painted and would like to start useing my army as soon as i can
so i was going to use 3 tanks in 1000 points
1 leman russ
1 leman russ
is it cheese to do this?
i would like to do this to get to 1000 points sooner and start playing
aslo i would like to know how you put a hull heavy bolter on your leman
someone said green surff but i have never used this
and how do you cut the lascannon off and make it look good(so you can put the h bolter there)
At 1 K it would be hard to beat that so not much fun for the opponents. Maybe if you go 2 russ's one with sponsons and one without to see the effect and learn the tanks abilities. I would suggest maybe 2 sentinels one in the HQ and one as a fast attack, again kit them out differently to see the different patterns. Finally a good round out might be a chimera in the HQ section.
But to hit the point again 3 tanks in 1 K is a little beardy, cheesy, power gaming. Great way to get the army done but lets not burn any bridges doing it. Now in a tourny go for it... Doh!
even better you could go one step further and make aan armoured company
what hero said is true
so dos that make the whole armoured company cheesy
and what about Mech tau all the Hammerheads and DevilFishs
i bet you would have a biger problem with them
anyway in 1000 points you would still have 50+ men if
you did not take any other tanks or sentinels so it would still
be a balanced list
the guard are a tank army right guys?
If you like tanks, play with them. It's that simple. I like tanks myself and always use them from 750+ lists. If people cannot handle tanks, its not your fault, and they will soon learn to add a bit more anti tank weaponry to their armies. I once played a SM player who's only heavy weapons were missile launchers. He didn't manage to glance either of the two russes I was using in the list the entire game, and 'wasn't expecting to see armour 14' sounded pretty lame to me as an excuse.
What Guardsmen dont want to hear...
"Ok boys, time to fix bayonets!"
I would say go for it and shame on those who scream cheese at it. The army will develop a large weakness to antitank weapons as you will spending almost %50 of your points on these three tanks.Originally Posted by KOS-MOS

well if you dont want people yelling Cheese at you try out the Hellhound i love mine im even consitering putting my sentinals with my HQ and takeing another one. when i use them my enemy hates them untell he meets my twin Basilisks
If you do things right people wont be sure if you have done anything at all.
If you haven't bought the tanks yet, then drop either a Russ or the Demolisher, and pick up a Basilisk.
There are always ways around it. I personnally only have 4 lascannons in a 2500 pt list, but there other ways of beating tanks.
I'd say if you don't like people use 3 tanks. If you do, use one or two.
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)
Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces
Well in my 1000 point list i just made i have 2 basilisks along with tons of heavey weapons squards in the HQ and such. I dont think its "cheesy", if you like tanks then use them.
