    Demoltions Question

    in the code of Imperial Gaurd, it has in the weapon description, it has complete rules for demolitions charges, all except for one thing, the points cost!!!!!!!

    so i ask you in all honesty, is GW making more and more mistakes with their rules and such

    please help me for i want my IG infantry to be able to blow SMs to little tiny bits:shifty:

    The rules (and cost) of demolitions charges can be found under the Special Weapon Squad entry in the Command Platoon rules.

    You should aldo check the wargear pages, it's got some information about the demolition charge aswell.

    the points arent listed, but the description and stats are there

    so, mcharlot, are you saying that in order to take demolitions that i have to use them as special weapons? that f*ckin sucks!

    Woah there.. imagine if every veteran sergeant in the army could take a demo charge..

    The game would be a slaughterhouse. Everyone would be crying cheese, and Gw would have to drop the rule or be torn apart by armies of angry marine players who are getting molested by big bombs.

    That's why they're confined to certain squads. See, makes sense.

    Yes the poor marines, whatever shall they do? Oh dearie dear...:sleep:

    I think that only being able to take them in one regular squad is stupid. The only other is Last Chancers, and they are special so many don't want you to use them. Their balancing factor is that they can potentially scatter back onto the squad and kill all of them instead of the nasty marines. They should not be allowed in regular line squads, granted, but some other options to use them would be nice... as it stands now, you can only have two in any given army, no matter what the size, on one force org chart. And we all know the strength of the Guard is in numbers.

    well that ruins my plans for a grenadiers army with the doctrines
    1) gradaniers
    2) storm trooper squads
    3) heavy suport squads
    4) close order
    5) iron dicipline

    now i have to get rid of one of my doctrines, but which one

    I'd ditch Close Order Drill then, since it can only be used by conscript and infantry platoons, and since you've got both Stormtroopers and Grenadiers I'm guessing you'll run a force that won't contain many conscripts or regular infantry platoons.

    Also, there is no doctrine called Heavy Support Squads, there is one called Heavy Weapon Platoons though, but it's generally useless since you can field Heavy Weapon Squads as Support Squads in your COmmand Platoon.

    ya, i got lost reading that part of the codex, so i dont need the doctrine to field a heavy weapons squad in the command squad?!?
    special weapons squads are only for suport squads of the command, right?

    Nope, no doctrine required for heavy weapon support squads.
    Special weapon squads are only available as support squads in your command platoon, these however do require a doctrine.
