im not sure wether to use the WH or DH rule but i want to make an army based on an expedition led by a senior member of the adeptus mechanicus heres what i intent to use
the limited edition techmarine as my inquisitor lord ots of mechanichal henchmen-probabbly pit slave models
inquisitor-the enginseer model
now if i use the WH ill use the pit slave models as arco-flagellants-the shock troops of the expedition-again use siutable mechanical model
if not then use the rules for deamonhosts and swap the names of there psychic powers to something technichal-these would be the inq lords personal creations
inducted guard-a regiment that was raised on mars or some similar mechanicus world
sentinels-the scouts of the expedition
not sure yet
another otion was to use the grey gnight models and use them as a secret founding chapter
I have played an IG Adeptus army before, and that is probably where it belongs, that or a Space Marine army. Then you can use Techpriest and Servitors to fix your tanks etc. Quite a nice fluffy army, and with IG the Techpriest are great models, but wasn't that effective in games.

I'd say that WH/IG or IG/WH is your best bet, actually. You still have good melee henchmen with the WH (better, if you include Crusaders), and of course Arcoflagellants/Penitent Engines. If you induct Guard, make them look techy and use probably a Sentinel unit and a couple of Armored Fists. If you have Guard as your base army (best way to go, IMO), use Cyber-Enhancement (to represent mech inprovment), Mechanised (to represent their access to Forge Worlds), and maybe even Chem Inhalers (to make them more mechanical, plus handy effects ^^).
I really don't see DH giving you anything helpful for such a list.
I agree with megalo on this one, WH offers alot of cool models and things and IG are very mechanical, For heavy support you culd always use a tolled up riss, make it look modified by some tch geniuses!
This army seems really cool, and WH( arco's, Pentinent engine) and IG( russ Guardsmen stormies) will make a good army.
The gold grey knight man. These are hardy men who like cheese.
Ever thought of how cheese was found?:

``Oooohhh, give it a go!``
''Quack, damn you!''

I agree with megalo. DH son't really offer anything "techy". I would go with the IG, and add bionic arms, metal limbs and soforth to their models. Then induct some WH, and do the same with them.
Et imperator Invocato Diabolus Daemonica Exorcist!
I planned somthing like this. You could even play around with doctrines and include Guardsmen with bioncs are warrior weapons to represnet servitors.

I think IG work best for this, if you play around with doctrines you can come out with some very tooled up and scary Skitarii.
True, you can't have a tech priest 'leading' the army, but I don't think Tech priests command Skitarii in battle anyway. They have their own leaders called Tribunes to do that.
The techpriest enginseer isn't great, but he isn't terrible either. If nothing else, give him a bunch of gun servitors and use him to shoot things.
