Thsi award is one of the most used in the Ig army, and i know that lots of people use this with a juinor officer to save a few points, and i wanted to know what you think the best use of this award is.
I think that giving it to a juinor officer is a bit of a waste. in my IG army i give it to a psyker with a force weapon. this does make an expensive model, but it can be so effective when you charge a Hive Tryant or Chaos Lord
The best use I can see is to make a cheaper HSO and thereby get Iron Discipline for free.
JO + Honorifica + ID = A better HSO.
In larger games the a Stormtrooper sergeant can make good use of it. Give him a Powerweapon to go with it and you can survive a bit longer in CC and are more likely to come out on top.
Also good in larger games where you've got too many troops about. Your main HQ can't confer Ld to them all.
To save points give a JO command squad Honorifica and have a HSO as your main Command Platoon.
Then you've got 2 high Ld bubbles to work with.
I'd never take a sanctioned psyker other than a bare bones one for fluff. They arn't worth it IMO.
i give it to my vet serg and then give him a ppower fist to make him a realy killer in combat
Doesen't giving an Honoriffica and a force weapon to a psycher go over the wargear points limit? I might be wrong, but I think it might.
"When one man dies it is a tragedy. When thousands die its a statistic."
Nope, the 2 together make exactly 50 points.
I gave the Honorifica to a Junior Officer, and tooled out the command squad, gave him a powerfist, and some other stuff. It is such a point sink. The only reason I did that was I needed a counter-charge unit, and I don't like Rough Riders or allies. So having both and JO and HSO with 5 attacks on the charge can work, but it's quite a gamble.
I think he means a hardened veteran sargeant, who can take PF's.Originally Posted by Gandhi

Actually I'm pretty sure it says they are an 'Officer Only' item. Meaing no Sarges can use em, I could be wrong though.Originally Posted by MTG Guru
Back on the subject of the Honorifica though, is that using it on a JO that leads your army is kinda unfluffy too.... Well, the first few JOs to have it would be original but when 80% of IG armies are under the direct command a a junior officer I start to smell cheese
