the link is broken and im getting a squad and i need help on what to use them for.
thanx in advance.
Put in as many assault cannons as you can and never deepstrike them unless they're somehow forced to be reserves anyway. Just put them on the field and walk them across it while they shoot.
Deciding which targets to shoot with these things is kinda tough, since, in fact, they're good at taking out almost anything. They'll put out solid anti-man damage with their huge volume of shots, and solid anti-tank damage with their two rending assault cannons. Simply, it doesn't matter that much where you shoot them--put them at whatever is going to deal the most damage to you in the next turn, basically.
Finally, don't get them into combat. It's tempting, cause they have those power fists, but unless you're fighting an army that just completely outshoots marines (like Guard or Tau or Necrons) don't go into combat with them--their damage output against almost every other army is greater when shooting, and most other armies will have things like power weapons that just maul them in close combat.
well i'll have to order a assult cannon bit off the internet in since they only come with one.
termie tactics vary immeansely depending upon who uses them...alot of people prefer to walk them across the board shooting the crap out of anything within range, others prefer to slap them in a land raider and drive them across the board and assaulting whoever looks at them wrong...i prefer to keep them in reserve.
i do this for a few reasons...my opponant cant stop me which is always a morale breaker for him. Also the very fact that 240 points worth of assault cannon weilding death could appear anywhere on the board at a moments notice strikes a bit of fear in them...as such they dont spread their forces out too much, they avoid open spaces even when they should take advantage of the clear lines of sight, and they try not to leave their fire support alone and unsupported which means their movement and assault units are hampered alot...if they dont do this then the termies can easily deepstrike in, and annihilate a lone havoc of devastator squad and proceed to cause carnage behind their main battle line
assault cannons really are one of the best weapons a foot trooper can have...with termies the fact that they can move and shoot with them, tear through armoured foot troops and lightly armoured foot troops alike and the surprising fact that they are as good as lascannon at taking vehicles down mean that nothing is safe from them
adding a character to the unit can be a good idea, and it can be a bad one...one ordnance template can do alot of damage, but by the same token this unit could kill virtually anything in combat...worth thinking about certainly.
Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...by that time they'll be a mile away, and have no shoes

Dont confuse Death wing tactics with the tactics to use a standard termie squad in a marine army, these are two very different things
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Cheredanine had a good point. Zuriel likes pitching his dark fortress but the page isnt very useful for non DA players.
I checked the link for LO's terminator tactica and it is in perfect working condition.
Give it another shot.
Mentor of Space Marine Commanders far and wide.
Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
hmm now it's working, wasin't last time i checked tho.
By the Emperor-- not quite sure what I did to deserve that....Originally Posted by Chaosbrynn

However, for those who couldn't be bothered to look, the Tactica of most use was specifically written for those taking termies within a normal SM battleforce.
I am sure that Mantis Warrior has the intelligence to figure out which one would suit him best. Yes there is a DA bias - but again the particular Tactica was fairly general.
If trying to help someone out with a link is considered "pitching" than I am clearly in the wrong Forum.
