    Legal Armoured Company?

Right, I've been thinking of different kinds of themed army and a tank heavy theme came to mind. I know that there is the Armoured Company rules, but unfortunately not tournament legal. So I thought of this idea:
(This is not a proper list, just an example, I already know there are gaping holes in it i.e. no vehicle upgrades, just showing it can be done)

    Doctrines: Grenadiers
    Mechanised

    HQ
    Junior Officer
    4x Guardsmen- 40pts
    Mounted in Chimera w M.Laser + HB- 85pts

    Sentinel Support Squadron
    3x sentinels w Autocannons- 150pts

    Troops
    5x Stormtroopers- 50pts
    Mounted in Chimera w M.Laser + HB- 85pts

    5x Stormtroopers- 50pts
    Mounted in Chimera w M.Laser + HB- 85pts

    Fast Attack
    Hellhound w HB- 115pts
    Hellhound w HB- 115pts

    Sentinels x 3 w Lascannons- 165pts

    Heavy Support
    L. Russ w Lcannon + HBs- 165pts
    L. Russ w Lcannon + HBs- 165pts
    L. Russ Demolisher w Lcannon + M.Meltas- 195pts

    Total: 1,460

So, probably not such a great list, but, it's pretty much all tanks anyways.

True, thats about as close as you are going to get.

What mae AC so hard is because all the tanks have high armour, so unless you build a list to take it you never have enough anti-tank.

If you dropped the FA sentinels you could get another 2 squads of stormtroopers like you have there.

Then with the spare 30 or so points just add to the stormtrooper numbers to get near 1500.

You don't need Mechanized in that list as troop-choice STs have access to Chimeras. But on the other hand, there's no other doctrine that really does you any good as you don't have any units that count as infantry.

I'm building somthing like this now calling it Patton's Third (even considering remolding the LR's and make em look like shermans)

But instead of going mechanized I'm going light infantry sharpshooters iron discipline veterans and something else thats "free" just to liven things up abit like drop troops

Then using the infantry to shore up the line while the LRs HBs and Sents play around with opposing force.

A couple of good tactical deployments and redirections of units at key times and this army proves to be pretty nimble.

Its just a matter of finding the right balance to squeeze under the 1500 point line for a GW GT tourney but thats probally 2 years away for me as no chance of being in town for the Baltimore one this year.

You might take chem inhalers.. unlike other equipment doctrines, it can be given to stormtroopers.
