I wanna know if somebody here removed the helm off this guy once ? i wanna use them in my chaos army as Thrall Wizards but if i use them im gonna remove the helm and put a book i found in another game...
so, nyone removed it, if so, is it easy ?
i removed it and put it one azreal ( cut off his head too) because i think the helmet looks so cool
ok, is it easy to remove ? and what you used to remove it?
i am sry to say it but no i unfortunatly had to use green stuff to remake it after i had cut it and for cuting it i used an exremlty small stake knife ( trust me it toke a long time and if i could i would post pics of how it turned out but i don't have a camera)
ok, it will be good for me, i don't mind destroying the cap, i just want the bearer, as long as he is not destroyed
oh well then you could just demolish the helmet (probably easier yes)
I would use a rotary tool with a metal burring attachment. They are really good for removing large areas you dont want from metal models. I have used this method to remove the helmet from the DA helm bearer (and other bits from other metal models) and it works really well.
One thing I will say about using this method is that it can be a bit risky. The burring tool tends to jump around if you dont use it properly and can remove bits of skin or bits of the model you want to preserve (much worse IMHO - skin grows back!). If you hold the tool securely and use it carefully this can be avoided. Needless to say the helm will be destroyed if you burr it away, so do something else if you want to keep the helm intact.
Good luck, be careful removing the wing next to the bearers head, it can be easy to remove too much from this area and give the little guy a free lobotomy. Any slight slips are easy to correct with green stuff though.
