Okay, here goes, I remembered someone asking for battle reports so, i recorded my last one.
Command Squad - HSO, SB, 3 guardsman
Fire Support - 2 x's Lascannons, 2 x's Hvy Bolters ( thats 6 lascannons, 6 Hvy Bolters )
1 Command ( Pwr Weapon, 4 Ccw ), Troops x 2 ( Lascannons )
1 Command ( Pwr Weapon, 4 Ccw ), Troops x 2 ( Lascannons )
1 Command ( Pwr Weapon, 4 flamer ), Troops x 2 ( Hvy Bolter )
2 Leman Russ - bolter
1 Basilisk - indirect
Space Marines ( a little sketchy on )
Chaplin - inv. 4 + BP ( and standard equip )
1 Pwr weapon
2 x's 6 man squad plascannon
5 Termi's - assualt cannon
1 Dev. - 4 hvy bolters ( 6 man? )

The pred. went out from behind the rune, and aimed its twin-linked at the leman, hit, pend, and destroyed the battle cannon. Next the plas went At the bolters on the hill missing both, 1 over heat but no death. Hvy. Bolters, killed 5 on 1 Support Hvy. Bolters squad, LD passed.
The whirlwind went boom!, on Las troop platoon in rune4, killing 7 models, from various squads. Ld passed, and failed, one retreats to edge of the board. The Rhino creeps towards
Hill 2 around the citadel, and the las devs. go walkabout towards the runes 3 and 4.
Hvy. Support 1, went dakka at plas. squad killing 2 , other Hvy. support and Hvy. platoon, at the Bolter Devs. killing 3 - 4 men. The leman in Hill2, fired at the rhino missing. The Bas. fired at the Hvy. Devs. hitting and killing 3. Las platoon in rune3 fired at the Hvy.bolter team, no wounds. The Las platoon in rune4 shot and regrouped at the Pred, nada, the Las Support in far of rune5 fired at the pred, still nada, and the other las support fired at the plas squad in rune1 killing 1.
The Termi' arrive in front of Hill2 , and blaze away at the leman, killing its cannon. The Plas both fired at the weakend hvy. support squad overheating and killing one, wounding 2 guardman, who both saved(cover). The Hvy. bolters shot and killed of the weakend Hvy. support. The Rhino swerved around the citadel, and popped its smokes, right near rune3. The Las. Devs. shot at a las. support, wounding 2. The Pred. shot at the leman again, doin silge. and the whirlwind landed amongst the command squad killing 2 guards.
Heavy Bolters took a last stand at the Termi's killing one, the Bas. shot (bad idea) at the termi's as well, who just saved with there 2+'s. Las Platoon in rune3 shot at the rhino, killing a SB, and shaking it. The 4 flamer squad torched, 3 Las. devs (after sneaking up on them).
The Las platoons in rune4 shot at the pred, and las dev's doing nothing. and the Las Supports killed 2 more plas squad marines, and did nothing to the pred.
The Termi's launched at my Hvy. Support, killing them, in combat/shooting, and marched up the hill to the hvy. platoon. The Rhino unloaded, and massacred the flamer squad, consolodating towards rune3. The Heavy bolter squad weakend the las platoon in rune3. The plas squad on hill 1 stared walking towards the battle ( lost there plas cannon ). Plas squad 2 shot at the hvy bolters overheating and saving. the Las. Devs. shot at the las platoon in rune4, killing 3 guards. the pred, shot at the leman, killing the bolter. The whirlwind, hit 2 of las platoon in rune4 wounded none.
In return my IG swarmed up the hill and killed the termi's, moving towards rune 3. The Las platoon at rune 3 flashlighted ( lasgun ) the chaplin squad, killing 2. the Las. platoon at rune 4 shot at the Pred. and Chaplin no result. The Las Supports killed one more plas guard. and the Bas. shot at and missed the whirlwind. the leman at hill 2 killed 1 marine from plas squad at hill 1.
The Heavy Bolters shot at some of the surging hvy. platoon killing 4, the Plas. squad advanced somemore ( hill1 ), and the other missed at the las support ( rune1 ). The Pred. returned the gesture to the leman, doing nothing, and the whirlwind scattered of into lala land. The Chapling roared, and charged the las platoon of rune3, almost killing one full strength squad.
My leman shot of at the plas squad doing niks, the Hvy Platoon, marched into the chaplin, the Las platoon ( rune4 ) split, half going for the chaplin, and the rest at the pred. The Las support fired at the pred still doin nothing. In combat the bayonets triumped, with a whooping 30ish model excl. 2 power junior squads swarming the chaplin, and poking him to death.
My opponent concided, at this stage, claiming Inevitable defeat.
This all happened today, and i'am still on a high from the final closecombat.
Things i learned from this game:
1. 10 lascannons can fail to kill a tank.
2. Nvr underestimate a hvy. bolter.
3. Watch out for deepstriking
4. Lemans aren't invincible
Well i hope you guys understood all that, I tried......
Tell me your thoughts i wanna know, what i did wrong, what i should do next time etc.
Don't know how I ended up reading all of that, but I was interested for some reason...
It sounded like the russes were as good to you as they are usually for me, meaning they missed a heck of a lot and went down relatively easily for AV-14. Sorry about that. Recently I've been experimenting with going heavy on the bassie's, but generally I think ordnance is not as amazing as people sometimes think it is.
As for your lascannon teams, may I recommend using sharpshooters next time? In fact, as a rule I always give my fire support/anti-tank squads sharpshooters. It definitely helps. Also, if I think there's going to be sufficient cover, cameolalinine really helps the support squads survive a little longer too.
But it sounds like it all went well. Thanks for the report - And may the countless guardsmen who gave their lives that day be remembered for their sacrifice! :shifty:

You did a good work. Autocannons are more useful than thought, cause against light vehicles like the rhino and whirlwind they work better than lascannons. Your line squads can have autocannon + grenade launcher for the same price of the lascannon, try it against rhinos. Dropping one or two special weapons squads with a democharge and meltaguns is a must against marines. you can make two 3-squads platoons and swap the third command section for a SW squad.
You got both pretty lucky and pretty unlucky at various stages of that battle, but in the end the right side won! It's always a shame to lose a battlecannon on first turn, you got pretty unlucky there, same with the assault cannon into the second tank. I assume the terminators were 'blinded by the light'? You didn't really mention how they were killed, but killing the chaplain in assault is nuts.
Your list was ok, but I would have had some plasma guns in there somewhere myself. Maybe swap out your lascannons in the line squads and use a plasma/missile launcher set up. Same points, and even more effective at killing marines while still threatening armoured vehicles. I wouldn't go for the autocannon option myself, its a poor option at best. The only thing it excels at is popping AV 10 and 11, and once they are gone, there are much better options.

Ohh for MTGuru the Termi' once running up the hill into part of hvy bolter line, were counter-charged by the rest of the line , and the junior officer squad ( pwr weapon/ 4 Ccw's) and swarmed
Flashlights, were an option here but i didn't wanna take a chance, and the Junior squad aint have bad in combat.

Besides that, way to kick some SM arse! Losing the Leman's gun put a serious damper on your fire power, but you made a great come back without it.
I spent alot of time battling SMs before I moved out here and let me tell you, if he starts pulling Apothocaires in every squad, beat him with a stick.
Battle Report section?, sorry never seen it, i just threw it hear cause in some post, i read ppl were asking for battle reports, and it was in this section.
The Lemans.... hmmmm i ben thinking, it could be nice to go rockets in line squads and sponsen hvy. bolters. But then if you dont lose the cannon its a waste of time, cause i be firing it more often. as 4 making a SW squad could do, right now i use a flamer, squad which i like., but ya an idea.
My happiest idea is to go drop the lemans altogether and go like 2 more line squads, and some big ass conscript squad for bayonetting. or just 4 more line squads, i liked the average guardsman, but then this is my 2nd game, and lemans are the busness, if alive, and hitting.
I'm gonna play some more games before changing my list, as it seems to work right now
I ben thinking, i may just loose the flamers in favor of sharp-shooting, on the support squads, Las and heavy bolter.
I dont like the idea of one less junior officer in turn for a special weapons team, the extra deployment, gives me more options, and the Officers are usefull 4 LD and Close Combat.
I had thought of goin for side hvy. bolters as i said but the Junior i feel will help more

For deployment options: light infantry doctrine has a cost in points, but makes your troops infiltrating, this means they deploy after the opponent deployed his non infiltrating troops, you might give a try at that.
