I haven't worked out points or specifics, but I reckon it'd be a good thing to try out; most people turn up to play Daemonhunters expecting a few squads of Grey Knights, some Dreads and a Terminator or two. Imagine how they're going to feel if, instead of plonking down your usually pathetic number of squads, you spend half an hour setting up ISTs, inducted Guard and Inquisitor retinues.
I reckon, if set up properly, the "Loads-O-Mens" list could be quite effective. Hell it works for the IG, it's basically the only tactic they've got unless they take an Armoured Company. CC can be provided by tooled up Lord and elite =][= retinues with an Eversor or Callidus and a couple of DCAs. Firepower is provided by the 500 Guardsmen and ISTs with grenade launchers and meltaguns, some of whom I might mount in Chimeras so they can run around blowing up tanks. I was also toying with the idea of mounting the =][= Lord in a regular LR but running it empty to supplement the anti-armour firepower, and possibly chucking an Orbital Strike and/ or a Leman Russ in for a hoot and a holler.
Like I said there are still some specifics to work out, but I reckon at the very least it'd be a good laugh to use something like this.
You are right, this list would be quite effective, but it would be more effective as an Imperial Guard list where you can take Doctrines, Basalisks, Hellhounds and your Stormtroopers can deepstrike. :shifty:Originally Posted by Heathen

I agree with Diggums on this one, actually. The power of the IG list is hurt when its inducted into a DH list - no Doctrines and none of the better units IG can usually get ahold of. Now, if all you want are a ton of stock-standard Platoons & AF's, then this idea might work. But if you want a really effective IG portion of your list, the IG should be the base list. Then you can ally in a Daemonhunters contingent (0-1 HQ, 0-1 Elite, 0-2 Troops, 0-1 FA, 0 HS). It does crimp a few of the ideas you mentioned (Orbital Strike, more than one assassin type) but overall the number of options you have is greatly increased.
I agree with both diggs and megalo, but, this would add an element of surprise, and It depends on wether you want an LR or not, or special russ tanks.
The gold grey knight man. These are hardy men who like cheese.
Ever thought of how cheese was found?:
`` I say sah, the milk in this barrel smells foul!``
``Oooohhh, give it a go!``
''Quack, damn you!''
