I am looking for opinions on the tactical pros and cons of each army.
okay well basicaly they ar ealmost oposites becaue while the BA have a lot of fast assault units such as the death company while the DA are very good at keeping a solid firing line because of there stubborn rule
I can at least give you the pros and cons of the Dark Angels.
They have access to the two most powerful companies, the Deathwing and Ravenwing. What is better than a whole company of Terminators. Not much I wager. Another great pro is the Ravenwing benefits are completely free, no charge. Auto 6+ save and auto Skilled Rider. OOGY. The stubborn rule is nice too, especially when you are in the middle of combat and dont want to run. Nice.
Being stubborn means that you also can't run when you need to. Your stuck in combat until the opponent runs or dies or you die. Dark Angels are also still subject to pinning. Not too much of a deal but it quickly can become one. All Terminators are +5pts. This can tend to be hindering. Dark Angels cannot take any allies. Even if the codex refers to allies with Dark Angels, that was third edition. Check out the FAQ from GW. This last one only has meaning in very large games, 2500+; Dark Angels are only allowed one and only one Land Raider Crusader per force. I suppose this is done to represent the newness of the Crusader and the Angels haven't quite caught on.
That's all I could think of. Let me know what you think.
