Well i was thinking of selling my Necrons because i never play them, and i was thinking of using the money to buy an assault based marine chapter. The two that appealed to me most were Space Wolves and Blood Angels. I wanted something that is really up in your face with decent fire support. Being as i know next to nothing about marines what would be good units to start with. I dont want a one two punch army like my friend has.. LRC with guys geared for assault with assault marines behind that, a dreadnaught and a predator annihilator. Also my main opponents are Tau, Black Templars, Dark Angels and Necrons. So which chapter should i get and what are the most combat effective units? Soon ill start by getting the SM codex and one of the respective specific Chapter Codexes. I also play Orks so i want something similar to Orks with decent mobility, a decent fire base, and very good assault capabilites. Actully (i know im ranting) could you guys just help by listing the advantages and disadvantages of both armies, thanks!

i8 would go with BA because on the charge they can kill just about anything
Too right. Look at IG, look At SM. See the difference?
Now, on assault. Look as vanilla SM, look at BA. See the similarity in the differences?

Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
Blood Angels or maybe even Ravenwing (not too familiar with Ravenwing, but all the skimmers/bikes could offer some neat play options).
Get a bunch of Assault/Jump pack Marines and at least 3 Land Speeder Tornados (HB/AC) and you will be well on your way. You could always trait out an army of your own creation to make it a little different.

i'd go with BA or BT
I would suggest BA over BT, they just have so many cool free upgrades that they are too good to pass up. Death Company absolutely annihilate, and hey, are free of points!!! Besides, BA have much cooler fluff.

Well if I am not mistaken all of the BA marines benefit from furious charge so that might tell you who is more in your face. The BA command squad is able to use jet packs (that is so sweet), however that is not recomended. Lots of assault marines, land speeders, and if you need heavy weapons you MUST put them on dreads or tanks because of the posibility of moving forward kind of like khorne.
Go with BA they look pretty cool as well and then once they are painted get a toothbrush and dip it in some red ink and brush your thumb acrossed it so it looks like they are splatted with blood from fallen enemies.

I'd go with Space Wolves if you want reliable fire support as well as awesome close combat ability. The fact that all your devestator squads could start running towards the enemy instead of blasting them to bits isnt a nice idea.
Also, Space wolves own BA in close combat. Sure the BA get intiative and strength IF they charge. But they cant stand up against the multitude of power weapons/fists a single squad of Wolves can bring.

i'm also doin the same thing but am thinking more using the trait system (take the fight to them + no mercy no respite = veterans for troop choices ^_^)

Go ravenguard mate. You can take asaault squads as both fast attack and elite and give them all furious charge (3pts a mod).
Id take shrike a few of his boys (not to many as they cost to much)
troops go for some scouts with sniper rifles and a missile launcher (set up last so you can line up a sexy shoty on enemy armour)
Get a few assault squads with furious charge (gota love +1 Initative and strength)
And to top it off eveyones fav landspeeders with AC cannons to five you that fire support you want :yes:
