ok so i started a BT army but the thing is...I dont LIKE them...i may be crazy but the painting scheme just doesnt fit my style. im thinking of doing SM using the trait system and im looking for a CC sort of marine army. I know that SW and BT are two of em but...as i said before...not my kind of color scheme. if i could make my own chapter and make it legal, it would help alot. also, please leave tips on how to build an army for them, so far i have a BT battleforce box. Thanks guys

to heck with you! think about the poor monkeys who have to work at a hundred type writers!
well, you don't HAVE to use their colors. nobod can ever prohibit you form painting the way you like. It's perfectly legal to paint something in any color you want, and use black-templar rules. Or Blood-angel rules. Or space wolf rules. Whatever you want.
"I have died a thousand deaths, and I will die a million more..."
If you don't like the BTs there is also a Red Templar chapter, you can see their pic in the new SM codex, pg 73 ( of the english ed). You could simply use the BT rules (perhaps the RTs are the less famous of the two 'crusader' chapters?)
I personally am planning on using an existing colour scheme for a chapter that IS documented, but has no special rules or fluff, so I can do what I like with them and am not locked into how GW sees these particular marines.
Baby, when I'm the voice of reason, we've got problems!~artificerSomeone should stop

You could try Blood Angels. 1st turn death assault (yay!)
That or use these following divergences (2 for each level):
-'Take the fight to them' and 'Die Standing"
-'Blessed be the warriors' and 'Death before dishonour'
-'No mercy, no Respite', 'Blessed be the warriors' and 'Eye to eye'
-'Trust your battle brothers', 'Be swift as the wind' and 'Flesh over Steel'
-'Trust your battle brothers', 'Heed the wisdom of the ancients (can't beat 6 CCW dreads), 'Eye to Eye' and 'We stand alone' (mine)
-'Blessed be the warriors', 'Take the fight to them', 'Eye to eye' and 'Die standing'
Die standing means no drop pods, which deny assaulting anyway. Save the deepstrike for the Assault Marines.
Heed the wisdom of the Ancients may seem un-assaulty, but 6 close combat dreadnaughts is nothing to scoff at.
The bottom choice is most effective at making 12 assault-oriented squads. (death)
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
try something with see but don't be seen, ad with it take the fight to them and you can get in assault very swiftly.
as for disadvantages, take a major and a minor for this.
