i am planning to get a master with twin lightningclaws but i also want him to have a combat shield (for the invun. save) i believe the combo is legiminate.
my question is how do i model this?
can i replace the comabt shield by something and then letting it count as a combat shield?
thanks in advance
(PS didn't knew if this was something for the conversion or space marines space, so mods move it if you want)
you could use some of the small shields off the terminator sprue maybe? use it as a chest plate extension?
You can use pretty much anything you want, as long as you can definately point out which bit it is if an opponent asks.
The shields from the Terminator boxed sets attached to the shoulder pads look alright, or you could plaster him in purity seals and say the 5+ inv save represents his purity, or use a modified Iron Halo and say it provides a weaker force-field, or attach a small electronic looking bit to his armour and say its like an IG refractor field, or give him the bionic head from the tactical sergeant and say it represents his advanced bionics, or do something really cool with his claws and say that he gets a 5+ inv save due to his absolute skill with them... Et cetera.
At least one of those has to be of some interest to you, surely...

thanx for the quik replies, i like the idea of the termie shields, the idea of small nodes on the claws representing extended force fields.
not to mention the "his absolute skill with the claws"
thanx for the comment
The way I was thinking of doing it was to use two high elf shields
I was going to put one on each lightning claw, with the widest part of the shield faceing the end of the hand (imagine you attached it to your arm- the widest end of the shield would be over your knuckles, with the pointy end over your elbow) much like in the pic of the company champion on this link
With one of these on each claw you have loads of room to place symbols/purity seals/devotional artwork etc of your choosing to make him look as you want. Also, you have a more then WYSIWYG combat shield for gaming purposes.
Just my 2 cents worth. I'm probably going to use this method for a company captain of my own one of these days... If you try it let me know how it goes.
Hope this helps.
I really like the idea of the high Elf shields. If you didn't want something as big I could
suggest something small and round but flat to represent bucklers. Maybe a plastic
washer with some green stuff to fill in the center?
In the old Terminator Sergeant blister comes a combat shield. Its probably the easiest thing to do. It also gives you another Terminator.:shifty:
Bolter Blasting Blizzard = Victory
for small round buklers u could use empire shields.
