Yeah, yeah, I know, should be in the "conversion" thread, but it's SM-specific... I wanna get a techmarine at some point, but even the full-blown exploded servo-harness model is, dare I say it... getting a little tough to look at. Don't get me wrong. It's fun, but I saw maybe 3-4 of them at a mega battle at a local store recently, each with some pretty interesting conversions, but I'm still thinking of trying something a little... different with mine, and I was looking for opinions.
Basically, I'm thinking the servoharness could be attached to another model's body. Now, I know that's not necessarily easy, but will the 40k players' community and rules Nazis out there revolt against me if I try to field a unit like that as a techmarine? I don't want special treatment for the guy -- just a different looking model. I was thinking MAYBE getting, say, an enginseer and attaching the SM techmarine servo-harness onto it and calling that my SM techmarine.
Would this not pass muster at, say, a tournament? Not like I fight in tournaments, but I like sticking to the rules as much as I can, even when I'm thinking outside the box.
