I expect to be fighting a lot of this list in the near future. My friends typical loadout against Imperial Guard tends to be an infiltrating lord with speed who summons demons and probably has a teleport homer, 1-2 Preds with Posession, Mutated Hull, Autocannon and Heavy Bolters, 1-2 small Tank Hunting Marine squads, and sometimes instead of infiltrating lord, a Demon Prince with Resilience, Speed, Armor, Aura and Stature. An Indirect Defiler finds his way in there also when theres not Hunter Kindred.
The LaTD is usually 5-10 Spawns, Masses of mutants, small squads of Leapers all with hidden Powerfist Bosses, a Traitor Russ, allied Infiltrating Speed Lord with icon, allied Tank Hunter squad, and Hunter Kindred.
The problem usually ends up being half my army in assault first turn and then demons coming and and murdering their way down my lines while I try to deal with everything else. I'm thinking the Macharian Cross might save me some grief along with a few Auspexes but I've never had much luck with the Resilient Prince or the mutant hordes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Disclaimer my suggestion are pricey in real world terms, though if Chaos is all you think you'll see for a while the enjoyment of the hobby might be worth it
Ogryns. If they don't have to go far and get picked off by long range weaponry they can be pretty cool.
RRs If you can somehow keep them out of CC until they can assualt the Hunting lances are killer weapons.
Drop troops: This doctrine can help by keeping the majority of your troops out of the game until later. It can help you by picking and choosing how your troops come down on the board.
I hope this helps, my experience playing chaos is a little old.
i don't know what to say about the first Chaos List cause i'm not used to fighting that type of list.
The second however..... he has 1 anti-tank squad!!! blow it to pieces, keep your tanks hidden if you have to. take a basilisk to keep behind cover and blow those groups of mutants away. masses of heavy bolters work too...... if all he send at you that's doesn't die fast is that lord... well, 1) how good is he? 2) is he worth dealing with rather then the rest of his army?
keep some anti-tank to deal with his single russ. fire support squads with heavy bolters (i'm assuming that the list is full of mutants for that is how you described it) possibly a demolisher to wipe the smile off those foul spawns faces.
drop trooping hardened vets with melta guns to deal with tanks and drop trooping sentinels with any weapon depending on what its doing. a basilisk surrounded by cover with its back right up against the table edge would be usefull. especially for taking out infantry. an exterminator with heavy bolters, autocannon and a heavy stubber would also be usefull
Where there's a will there's a weapon
I'd recommend STs if the hellgun was better I've said this some where else and maybe on this list but I think that a Hellgun should be a S4 weapon. I'd rather have an S4 weapon with no AP than a S3 weapon with AP5

Ok a model with stature can not have infiltrating. That is under the chaos codex under infiltrating.of infiltrating lord, a Demon Prince with Resilience, Speed, Armor, Aura and Stature.
Hmm Against LatD, only a lord without stature, infiltrate & Daemonic Speed can get a first turn charge.
Fast mutants are a 2nd turn charge.
Also what do you mean by allied tank hunter squad? Raptors, Havocs, Bikers, Obliterators? What exactly is doing it? Just in case it's Havocs, then I want to point out that LatD cannot take Heavy Support from the Chaos Codex: no Havocs.
Hmm Hunter Kindred? He's got some Kroot too?
Others have given some good ideas, May I add the Hellhound or three to the list of suggestions? The inferno cannon is the perfect weapon for killing hordes of creatures: It's accurate, you can get a lot of Mutants under the flamer template, and it wounds on 2, and cuts their AP.
OK I'm done betraying my LatD. . .
Votewar MKV 2nd place. . .
Back from internet limbo, and glad to be here.
