    help with imp army

    hi guys i have been playing this army for about a year and am wondering what else i could add or any mods i could make because despite my no loss streak all year, it is getting to the point where i need to enlarge my army

    your hq is awfully expensive, refractor fields, bionics and meltagunner are not much use. use the hq for leadership just, bolter is fine and most of the veterans thing is also but try to keep them cheap. theres no point in taking a meltagun as the hq should be kept out of harmes way. i suppose the medic could be usefull as an insurance policy to try to make the hq harder to kill but still again not neccessary. this is what i normally take

    Carapace armour for whole unit

    Just to clear a few things up first.

    1:You effectively have 7 doctrines..... You have 5 doctrines plus you are using two restricted troops, each variety of restricted troops costs one doctrine point (you get five doctrines points to spend), ergo you have 7 and are unfortunatly cheating.....

    2: Platoons work as follows, 1 command squad plus 2-5 troops squad. Each platoon (minimum of 25 men) is 1 troops choice, so unless i'm reading this wrong, at the moment you only have 1.... This is easily sorted out however by just adding another command squad, therefore giving you two troops choices.

    Ermm... I'd probably suggest adding a veteran squad, dropping in with 3 special weapons is always fun, or you could always infiltrate, also as you have special weopan squads, you could take one with a demo charge. Drop in, throw the charge and watch the terminators disintigrate. Maybe a hellhound aswell......

    Very sorry to point out problems with the list that's been winning all year .......

    EDIT: Sorry, i hadn't noticed the armoured fist squad, so you do indeed have two troops choices. Thanks for pointing that out Microcosm.

    I have to say, this list isn't to crash hot. Do you want help to make it better? Because there's a lot I can help with here.

    The other thing I have to point out is:

    doctrines:carapace armour: 9 squads:

    Chameoline: 11 squads
    Those two numbers CANNOT be different. Not to mention you've only got 11 squads all up, and only 10 of them are elligable to take either of the doctrines. So What you've done I expect is not put the Carapace doctrine on the HQ and have placed Cameoline on the stormtroopers. They're both illegal.

    Combined with the fact you have seven doctrines I have to say you need to really read your codex. Sorry it's harsh but it isn't fair on your opponents. Not only have you been cheating (although unintentionally) for a whole year but you've had large winning streaks against them as well. Not a good look.

    I see no problems with the Troop selection as an armoured fist squad counts as a single Troop choice, so he got 2.

    However, I'd like to point out - because maybe it's not clear - that chameolin and carapace have to be given to every unit that can be equippted with it (not stormtroopers).

    Furthermore, the combination of either LC and Gl or ML and Gl are a waste of one of the weapons, so I#d recommend combining LC with Plasmaguns (not Melters, as IMO they are made for deepstriking and squads that move alot) and HB + Gl. (you seem to favour the Gl alot, which I can't understand really, but as it's a question of taste ....)

    And keep the hunter-killer missiles at home, they are far too expensive for their use na d you shouldn't complain about having to less heavy weapons in a guard army.
    Purchase extra armour and smokelauncers instead.
    Additionaly, I personally think that a leman russ with LC + HB sponsons is less effective than a leman russ with HB + HB sponsons.

    At last, i agree with the others.
