Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi guys I currently have a predator annihilator with lascannon sponsors and I just bought a chaos predator tank for my wolf brothers. Seeing as how chaos predator comes with more, better stuff.
But I don't know what weapons I should him the tank, Should I make it an annihilator too? With lascannon sponsors.
I have mostly an assaulty army, my troops will drop pod along with my 2 dreads. The only thing footslogging are my 2 predators.
I only started 3 months ago so Im not that experienced in tanks.
Can you guys help me, I can reconfigure the 2 preds or somethig. Im thinking annihilators are good for assault, tank killers. Hmmm?
I really want to start building the predator now so some advice would be good, thanks!
Also, how many heavy support slots can you have? I know some people who have 4 preds in their army so Im wondering cause I already have a long fangs, 2 preds, but Im thinking of adding a leman russ exterminator.
So thats 4 heavy support units right there...dunno if its allowed, Are you only allowed 3 HS Slots?

Unless you play Iron Warriors or are using a second Force Organization Chart for the game, you can't get more than 3 Heavy Support choices.
Also, you'll likely find that adding heavy bolter sponsons to your Predators will make them more versatile.
Regular space marines have no way of getting more than 3 heavy support slots. Some Chaos armies allow for more flex, but this is not the Chaos forum. Traits from the Space Marine Codex allow some fiddling with standard organization (Bikes as Troops, Asault Squads as Elites...) I don't think SPace Wolves have any of those types of options other than using a Venerable Dread as an HQ if memory serves.
As for the Preds, don't glue the sponson weapons on at all. There are a number of ways you can attach them without making it permanent, such as rare-earth magnets or even the venerable Fun-tac. This will let you figure out what works for you as you try the different options. Try the Conversions forum for ideas.
RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
Just to expand on FD28 a bit...the rules say weapons strength 7 or greater count as main weapons and 6 or less are defensive. Lascannons are main weapons (being str 9). The rules also state that if you move up to 6" you can fire ONE main weapon and ALL defenive weapons. With Lascannon sponsons you can shoot all of them if you don't move, but if you move at all you can only shoot ONE. If you put heavy bolter (Str 5) sponsons, you can move up to 6" and shoot ALL your weapons.Originally Posted by Firedrake28

Nice, I'll have differents side sponsor configurations that are switchable.
But what about the main turrent? Do you guys reccomend annihilators or destructors?
The autocannon is nice against light tanks (rhino) and big tough guys (Str 7), but it won't scratch a Leman Russ or a Landraider. It depends on your opponentOriginally Posted by R.A.P.T.O.R

most of the time, i go with autocannon and heavy bolters, and leave anti tank to my infantry.. personally i like this config.. at 36" you can dish out lots of shots.. but if you are unsure, go with what RecklessFable had said..
