    Celestine Model

I just picked up the St Celestine model, since the price is going up in July. I knew I wanted this one eventually, but a 33% markup made me pull the trigger a bit early.

When I opened the blister, there were two sets of bases... a 40mm base, and 4 25mm slotted bases. The only pics I have seen of the Saint were on 25mm bases, so I'm wondering if this was included as a mistake, or if GW is giving me options.

I was actually thinking of stacking the 25mm on top of the 40mm, since the base could be larger per the rules... conversion ideas rolling through my head...

Anyway, I was wondering if I was just lucky today, or if everyone gets a chance to pick on their own.

Edit: just thought of something else. With the cape/iron halo/model three piece setup, did anyone try pinning it, or did the glue hold on its own?

I stacked the small base on top of the large one, and used modeling clay to build it up into something like a Pitcher's Mound.

I would pin the pieces together.

In my case, I used Mighty Magnets.
I wish I had discovered these things a LOT earlier.

They are a great idea for making your Jumping Cannoness convertable to Footslogging.
They are great for making removeable parts on tanks as well.

When I first bought the model it didn't. But recent packs have been including both bases.
I pinned straight through the backpack. I'd have replaced the dove with another sword but couldn't find anything suitable.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.

Not to hijack, but I think these are a great idea and I'd like to start using them. Could you provide me some suggestions on where I might find them please? =)

Just search Mighty Magnets (no quotes) in E-Bay Stores
    or
    www.KjMagnetics.com

    They really are amazing.

I have a lot of 1/8" magnets... hadn't considered them for this model. I did add them to my Canoness and an extra jump pack.

However, the cloak and cherubim is an awfully heavy piece. I don't know if it will sit well with what magnets I already have.

BTW, I picked mine up at www.amazingmagnets.com and used them to make my Rhino/Immolator accessories convertible also.

The cape will not fall off during play. It might pivot, but I like havin the ability to break it away to inspect the detail or play her as a pretty Cannoness.

But I didn't use the Halo on her. I didn't think it was very clever.

When you use the magnets, you have to remeber that each magnet has 2 opposite poles.
So there IS a right way and a wrong way to set them up.

The magnets can also be filed down & lose no potency.

I only got the large base... I cutted out a hole in the base and put that piece in it, fits perfectly. I glued the backpack and cape, damn it was irritating! But it's worth it since that model is so damn fine!

Pretty much what id did was to attatch the smaller base on the larger one for added stability.

by the way thanks Red Zinfandel for the tips on the mighty magnets. im going to have fun with them:rolleyes:
