what should i get for a city fighting IG army?
This too has been covered in the countless City fight army list threads.
But the short and sweet of it is anything with a template.
Even mortars, sometimes especially mortars as they can be far far away and rain down pain.
Flamers are good too. GLs aren't bad.
Demo Russ is a popular tank because theirs no downside to the 24" range anymore and its got better armor on the sides.
Thats a gist of whats good.
Fifth Edition Saved 40k for Me. I love my ratlings and my cover saves!
Well, it has been discussed alot lately, but here's my opinion:
-Light Infantry: Lets you move through all that rough terrain easier.
-Camelioline(sp?): IG with 3+ cover saves:ninja: That's just drop dead sexy.
-Heavy Weapon Platoons/Special weapon squads: Well, all infantry armies could move through the streets a little easier, plus bring some killer weapons to the table. Flamer/Demo charge squads are way more effective in these games as all the cover will get them closer with less chance of dying.
-Sentinels: Great for all infantry armies trying to get some mobile heavy weapons on the board, plus they can DS/Scout for free  I'd load them out with either Heavy Flamers (For anti cover save goodness) or lascannons for mobile tank hunting.
-Hellhounds: The flamers negating cover saves will come in handy for city fights! Plus the range and power of this weapon are well worth the points.
-Stormtroopers: Excellent for fire support...Not just for city fight but hey.
-Mortar: Use them in city fights. They can pin and lob over terrain...Both are good when your facing a CC army that's getting too close for comfort.
