... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
Meh, I wanted to change my company's name anyhow
For those enemies who willingly move against the Supreme judgement, of the Divine Emperor of man kind, Eternal death shall be granted. Amen
The Medusa V threads where deleted because basically, every other post in there was... junk. While some of the posts contained some quality, a whole lot didn't. Large threads tend to get out of hand anyway, regardless of the content.
I personally won't be taking any part in the Medusa V campaign. In the end, GW will just say that a whole bunch of factions made some landgrabs but in the end, nothing has changed, while heavily favouring the fluff towards the newly released models and that's something that ticks me off a bit... that and my club running our own campaign simultaneously, the latter being more a reason for me not participating than the former.
No. you know what? that post was junk. Ask yourself what that kind of attitude does to contribute to the LO gaming community. If you're jaded FINE, but don't discourage over 100 other members from taking part in an important GW event by supporting this deleting. ALL of our records are gone now, we have to start over. Overall I've been really happy with the mods here on LO but this is really out of hand. I think that next time there should be some deeper reflection on the actions like that before taking such rash action. I think this may be the last straw for me (and certainly many other new members that joined the LO Medusa V imperial battle group).Originally Posted by Kaiser
Indeed, Kaiser, the fact that you personally cannot muster up any enthusiam for the campaign is NOT a reason to seek to disrupt other peoples enjoyment and excitement over it.
I personally like the idea of having a cheap and cheerful forum or even just a thread where the guys who are buying into the campaign can go and post their stuff. It would be moderated and if any flaming took place, then the usual punishments would apply.
I allowed a large thread in this IG forum to persist, but now I see that a small minority have conspired to delete it beyond the range of my powers of reserection. Well, I am doing what I can to get something else going. Watch this space.
It also turns out that it was a repository for the IDs of a load of users who ARE taking part in the campaign, so it was valuable information. Okay, its a shame the spam quotient was so large that a collegue of mine mistook it for a spam mountain and summarily deleted it...

Ryan Dancey, Vice President of Wizards of the Coast, believed that TSR failed because of "...a near total inability to listen to its customers, hear what they were saying, and make changes to make those customers happy." Are you listening, Games Workshop ?
Ladies and Gents, you dont get to see this very often, so pay close attention. I ****ed up. Spectacularly.
Kaiser said to me that XYZ thread was full of spam, and after supplying the link and a giving it a cursory glance over, I agreed with him, and summarily deleted it. I could give any number of bull**** reasons, I'm stressed from exams, I've got this small but annoying cut on my toe, yadda yadda yadda, but I still ****ed up, and that simply shouldnt happen.
So what happens now is largely, I hope, a gesture of goodwill in both directions. I know a lot of people are rightly pissed at me. Forgive me for my limited understanding of the thread, since it seemed, pretty much, to run quietly by itself without any major fallout that I would have heard of in #fun. Except for this debacle, of course.
My understanding is that the thread is broken down to various categories regarding posts, and this is what I plan to do to fix things. Of course, people could make it a lot easier on me at a difficult time in terms of exams by emailing me (email@example.com) with their details.
In sofar as I can, tommorow morning from around seven, I'll be up and online, and going back through the threads in the IG forum for... oh. Lets be conservative. Two weeks for the minute. Getting members names, countries, recent army lists and the like. Over time I'll be adding these to a replacement thread.
What the hell, im feeling masochistic. Send me all your abuse to the address above, if you like. In any case, I'll sort it out. On that you have my word.
However, as a post script, to an anonymous member, dont assume I dont know I've ****ed up. Dont try and guilt trip me. And also, the very ****ing worst thing you could do is try and issue me an ultimatum, as was basically the title of your PM.
Gents and ladies, I have failed you. I will try and put it right.
EDIT: Phobos, take it easy old man, don't get stressed over this just before your exam. Folks, cut the guys some slack and Email me rather than him - I don't have important exams over the next fortnight. Aun.

"It fits like clothes made out of wasps!"
Heh, I suppose I should have worded that one a bit better. Seems that I mixed in my own attitude to this thing far more than I should have. Oh well, we all have our days and I am sorry if I did offend anyone.
However, my intent of that post was to explain why the threads where gone, as you probably can tell, I did never have much interest in the Medusa V affairs and seeing long threads about the same thing popping up everywhere did bother me. I mean, there was what? Four? Five? Threads about Medusa just here on the IG board.
I'd also say that I'm a regular visitor at a IRC channel where a fair number of the LO mods also attend, which is how I knew why the threads where closed and as stories pass from mouth to mouth, the words change and the result if my above post, with a large bit of myself in it. Pretty much everything really. But meh, I'll just stay out of what's not my buisness from now on. Again, sorry if I did offend anyone, because that was not my intention. It's just in my nature to whine and complain when I'm feeling grumpy about something. :>
I did manage to save a copy of Yossanrion's first post in the Intel thread if that's any consolation to anybody.
Edit: I just noticed that it and the other thread haven't been deleted, and yet the Regestration one has. Excuse me, I'm going to go cry in the corner...

Good job, Triumph. I'm glad someone managed to save that post.Originally Posted by Triumph Of Man

Your apologies (Kaiser and Phobos) are of course accepted on behalf of the LO Medusa V Imperial Battle Group. I might suggest to those that have the mechanisms to do so, check the LO back up files for this thread and use that to restore the thread if possible.
All other Battle Group members report to the link in my sig until further notice.
