Just wondering why the consistent advice, in the tactica and from people posting here, is to put meltagun-equipped ISTs in a Rhino, and Plasma gun ISTs in a Chimera? My SM buddies call Rhinos rolling coffins, and I'd think you guys'd be going Chimera all the way. What's the difference tactically speaking?
And if you only have one squad of ISTs in your force (like, say, to go with a brother captain and one PAGK squad in a 500-point game), which is better: meltas or plasmas?
There are several threads that have gone over this topic, but in a nutshell:
Melta equipped IST go well with Rhinos, because you are moving 12" until within range of your target, so you need a cheap transport, which the Rhino is.
Plasma IST squads go way better with Chimeras, because one they are fireing the Chimera is much better at fire-support.

Please use the search function; as Diggums Hammer said, there are very many threads stating exactly what the possible uses and benefits are for each transport.

Sorry, my bad. I'm usually better about that, too. Ooops.
Thanks for the help anyways.
