Right now i'm playing iron hands and need help with tactics for them. Iron hands are normal space marines which can take a techmarine HQ and a total of 3 venerable dreadnoughts and 3 regular dreadnoughts. Could anyone please give me some advice on how to play my army. I'm trying to go for assault, close fire. thanks.
drop podding dreads are a good choice for assualty army, then get your normal assualt marines and drop pid tacts in
Ghost's of Terra
Don't forget to put termi armor on your vet sgts. My friend ran an army like this with great success. He had a big termy command squad around his Iron father and a Librarian too. Throw in some LandSpeeder Tornadoes because those Assault Cannons kick soooo much butt!Originally Posted by IronFather0
Drop podding rocks for the assaulty army, because you need to get in close fast. When you drop, use the pods for cover from the enemy's heavy weapons.
Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Drop pods, drop pods, drop pods... can't make you take them but they rule with any army going with units like Dreadnoughts who can land, shoot and then assault with S10! Just remember that against a swarm you would be better to shoot, and that you should support with a termie command squad, and a lot of tactical squads with special weapons, maybe HW for any enemy who is swarmy. HB's and Plasma guns are your new best friends as they can mostly kill what your dreadnoughts cannot. Though assault cannons are awesome.
