    Which one: SBT or SBAT???

ok... i am coming to the choice of either sword brethren terminators or sword brethren assault terminators for, obviously, my black templar army.

the advantages of having SBT is that i can make them into a command squad and have my chaplain run the squad. this means i can deep strike them all at once and so on. the bad side of this is that they are not assault terminaotrs and are not as good in combat.

the advantages of SBAT are they are mega good in assault but i cant have my chaplain run them if they deep strike.

so from a BT point of view which one is *better*.... ?????

I'd say to take the assault Terminators. They're a far too unused power. Sure you won't be able to lead your Chaplain with them before deployment and if they deepstrike that can be a problem. But Get the Chaplain to drop pod and give him a homer.

With this combo you are assured a good chance to have an early force. I'd also say to give your Chaplain his Storm Bolter (you can't take a basic CQC weapon, you already have a Power weapon, and Powerfists are damned expensive). This way, you'll have 4 Bolter shots to at least make a dent in their paint job while the others arrive. Again when they arrive.

If you want you could use both. 2 Assault Cannons while waiting for the claws and hammers to arrive is nothing to sneeze at.

But try and use the Assault Terminators. Somebody needs to.

I use them all the time. Sure you lose a bit of versatility, but even so... They are cheaper than a regular Terminator squad, even if you put Furious Charge on all of them. Nothing to sneeze at in the least.

i might just do that, put furious charge on them and have them (in bigger games) mounted in a LRC...

In bigger point games assault terminators are defenietly worth it. I had one squad of sword brethen as a decoy for his assault squad. Made sure my termies where in charge range of the sword brethen. They annihilated the assault squad and charged another squad. And so on and so on. They took out 2/3 of his army. Just on there own without a single loss

Haha I know that to be right! "Page cannot be displyed" "network is down, please retry (posts 17 of the same post without you knowing)" "We cannot show you this page you were looking at 5 seconds ago" "Etcetera".

I was about to yell at you before I saw the damned netowk thing at the end. lol

Out of interest, what configs did you use for those two squads? I've got a sqaud with 1 hammer & 4 claws. My vets use Infiltrate, Power sword, Melta, & pair of claws.

Am I on the right track?

My vets had a PW and TLC. and my termies had 4 TLC and 1 TH. The vets had ofcourse infiltrate. I knew that my vets would be killed anyway so I didn't kit them out too much.
