Ok, I have 160pts to spend on a Librarian, and I'd think I'd like him in Termie Armor. Anyone have any particular combos that have worked well for them? I was thinking of putting him with a squad of Termies, but all in all seems like a lot of points spent. I face Tyranids with my usual opponent so I'm not too worried about pie plates.
I dont know much about libriums but the Vortex of doom sounds good if your versing nids

Nah, either they have a really high Initiative or are too large for it to work on them. Thats a very overpriced ability in my opinion.
Against Nids I'd give him a familiar for the extra initiative. This is important as your gauranteed to strike atleast at the same time as is hive tyrant, even first. It also means striking similtanously with the genestealers.
Vortex of doom would not work well on nids as even their basic gaunt has the same Ini as a SM. Personally i'd go with might of heroes or veil of time (depending on the points you have left). might of heroes will work well when gacing non MC units, as you want as many attacks as possible.
I play nids and I run 4MC in my 2kpt list, and the thing i fear most (of then then N is force weapons, so good choice on picking a librarian. Hope it has helped.
I would go with terminators and give him veil of time. If a character can hit and wound on 3's, I've found that veil of time is awesome. My brother killed about 50 gaunts with his librarian with only viel of time. In fact, he had 3 terminator HQs in one HQ choice which were the last remaining units in his army against about a hundred gaunts plus warriros and zoanthropes and he won.
seeing as though i play BT's... i suggest you dont go with a librariun, for they cannot be trusted, those heretics.

I'm not a big fan of termie armor on HQs. Just buy an Iron Halo, a bolt pistol and termie honours. It's more expensive, but he can ride in basic transports. For psychic powers, i'd run with Veil of Time and/or Fear of the Darkness.

Terminator armor is pretty efficient, especially against nids where the armor, invul save, and extra attacks work pretty well, and transports don't really matter that much because they'll be on you in a turn. Also deep striking, to a limited degree, reduces the need for transports. In general, might of heroes is good and flexible. Veil of time on the other hand can be useful if you got 2+ save and 30 gaunts swarming you, but it's only active in your turn.

Might and Veil for termie Libby facing nids. Consider giving him a power weapon too for an additional attack (If you do't fancy paying for a power weapon, try a combi-plasma). Furious Charge might be useful for him and his Command squad sarge- though useless on other squad members. I hope you are arming his squad with 2 assault cannons, and think about a combi-flamer for the sarge.
