For all of you non Black Templar players Sword Brethren are pretty much the same as Veteran Marines except for some very minor point differences.
Now, I have some of the Sword Brethren models and I was wondering how to use them properly. Now some things to keep in mind is in the BT codex it says they can take all the heavy weapons that Veterans can, but since their metal models and I haven't seen any bitz or models besides Lightning Claws, power sword, and CCW and PB I won't be giving them any heavy weapons, and instead of Tank Hunters they can take Counter-Charge or is it Counter Attack?
But with all of this info, could you tell me good ways to use these kinds of units?
P.S. Sword Brethren can take Termie Honors for the same amount of points as non sergeant Veterans as BT don't use sergeants in any squads.
good way to use them... close combat! Rhino + Chaplain + Sword Brethren + close Combat = Dead Enemy!!!

I have been playing templars for a while now, and my only questions is, WHY??? what would possess you to even take Sword Brethrens, aside from the cool looking models, their stats it jus basically a normal templars. If you really wanna use Sword Brethrens, I would say, Storm Shield for all, then, all the power weapon, power fist, and lightning claws you could take, and Terminator Honours. Either slap them in a rhino, and drive them to their doom with furious charge, or infiltrate them, so you could get to the enemy before you get shot down....Either way, they sword brethrens from the box is essentially useless cept for maybe the one with the lightning claw, and power weapon. So conversions is definitely required if you want them to do any good.
I don't play BT, but I could see how Sword Brethren could be misconstrued as "worthless".
Here's how I would assemble the unit, personally;
1x Power Fist/Bolt Pistol/Termie Honors
1x Power Weapon/Bolt Pistol/Termie Honors
6-8x Bolt Pistol/CCW
The biggest advantage they have is getting the bonus attack on their special weapons without buying termie honors for everyone. Use it. It's a step waaaay ahead of normal vets.

I'd field pretty much the same unit as Cypher mentioned. I'm not going to (I'm not letting myself tweak my BT list for awhile so that I stop obsessing over it,) but that's pretty much what I'd drop on the table. Furious charge has potential, but only if you're going to be able to ensure that they get the charge (pretty much meaning you'll need to have something in front to act as bait... which isn't a bad way to go.) The greater flexibility in who gets to take terminator honors is a great advantage over regular veterans.
Storm shields might be fun but... against most armies it probably isn't worth the points. And remember... you can use the nice models in regular squads. Just make sure the power weapon doesn't really look like a power weapon (I use glowing vs. metallic personally.) and you're probably good.
You play your game, I'll play mine.
