I haven't tried a Basilisk yet in CoD, but I'm working on a new 1500 point list and wonder if there's a place for it in there.
What are your thoughts on their effectiveness in the city? Would I be better off taking my 3 flamer-equipped sentinels instead? Something else? Army also includes 3x sentinels (2 LC & 1 AC), 5 full squads, 2x fire support teams (AC & HB), a squad of 8 vets, chimera with flamer/bolter, hellhound...
Another option would be to trim 30 points or so and add my Leman Russ battle tank.
I'm not too sure about bassies in CoD, i love them, no doubt about that, but if i read the rules about ordnance correct, your enemy could just hide his men in the buildings, as you will only be able to hit the upper floors... i'd wait for someone elses input, as i've just bought the CoD 'dex today, and just had a quick glance at the pretty illustrations, in the metro...
Partly depends on the table size.Originally Posted by En Guard

I have a hankering to see how Griffons with siege shells would do - especially on the 4 x 4' size tables.
Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts. Only the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots would fight a war on twelve fronts.
I've been thinking aout army composition for CoD as well, and to be honest I don't think Bassies will be that great. Sure, they still have amazing strength, good AP and a large blast BUT with all those cpver saves running around they are going to lack the killing power they would normally have on an open field.
In it's stead you should use a Hellhound...Or 3. Their flamers ignore cover saves and shoot 24". It's got an alright AP, and a good S so it should be pretty good against any kind of troops.Give them a Hunter Killer missile and they are the same points cost as a Bassie with indirect fire AND they can shoot that sucker off, hopefully hit and destroy some enemy armour in the first round:yes:
