I don't think you do. While the Daemonhunter FAQ says that it supercedes Codex Assassins, I still think that the Daemonhunter requirement for an Inquisitor for an Assassin should still only mean for a "Daemonhunters Assassin," and not for an "Imperial Assassin," even though in game, they are the same. I think that Codex Assassins should still be enough to field the assassin in a Guard army.

So anyways, if what I just said made no sense, just ask your opponent to let you use the assassin. He/she shouldn't say no, unless they're mean.

Callidus assasin is the single most cheesiest model in the game...unless your playing a special scenario ( in which your trying to kill the leader or do a solo commando raid ).

Well its a fluff thing. Since the attacks of choas from eye of terror they are being strict with lending out assassins to would be traitor captians just waiting to back stab so they must watch.

I'm almost postive that I read recently that codex: assassins is not valid anymore. For the life of me I can't remember where, but it might have been in the most recent WD under the DH Q&A section.
I'm not even sure where else you can get rules for the assassins, but I THINK I read that somewhere. I don't have the DH codex either, I'm not sure if assassins are in it.

With the DH's you need to have an inquisitor lord or inquisitor to field any assassin. But of course for us guard players we have to use another HQ choice to buy a lord. Reasons for that is that the inquisitor is an elite, and with DH's as allies you can only have 0-1 elites. And plus I would spend that extra amount to get a lord anyways, because A) You can have the retinue, and .....there nice. To finish this off does anyone know if you can field a DH's hero, say Corteaz or Stern in a guard force? That would be awsome to have Creed, Kell, and Corteaz side by side in combat.

Don't you think Creed ( being the head of the Cadian army ) would only be present in like a 10,000 pts + battle? Im sure you can probily field a DH hero as long as you can justify it to your opponent ( I would say no since you can only field about 15 DH models max in an IG army ).

Guess your right, but it would still be cool and all. And creed can be fielded with a 1,500 point army. But of course, 10,000 would be awsome...........thanks
