Reading the Space Wolf supplement i was wondering which way is the correct cost of a space wolf terminator
1. Wolf guard + terminator armor (includes storm bolter/power fist), this would make terminators really cheap and cost effective OR
2. Wolf guard + terminator armor + power fist + storm bolter, this would make terminators really expensive even though space wolves have a cost reduction on the armor.
Before i start the sons of russ... which way is the correct method.
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
Well unfortunatly the way the codex is written is that you have to buy the stuff seperate from the armor. That would be sweet if power fist came with it but also no.
On the other hand you can make some sick combinations of weapons on Wolf Guard Termies, like Lightning Claws, Storm Shields, Combi-bolters, and the like.
No if you buy termie armor then it comes with pf and sb. IF you have to buy the other stuff its insaine. I play wolves and that is how i do it and nobody has said anything. SO WHEN YOU GET TERMIE ARMOR YOU GET A PF AND SB. But if you dont then i have been playing wrong for a long time.:shifty:
That is unfortunately not true. Wolf guard get terminator armor like ICs do. pg25 of the space marine codex has the description of terminator armor.Originally Posted by DerkaDerka
Terminator armor does not come automatically with a powerfist and storm bolter. The PF and SB that are the weapons that come with "terminators" slection in the space marine codex are granted those weapons in the selection.
So, its Wolf guard + cost of terminator armor+ cost of weapons and wargear- in the case of powerfist and storm bolter that's 48points a pop for PF+SB wolf guard terminators.
Wolf guard get terminator armor for "cheap" but the abilty to customize the whole squad to your liking means you have to pay a premium in points.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
They DO NOT get a power fist and storm bolter for free. If they did they would be sick and wrong. Although they do cost an increeased 8 pts (48 pts) they also can use a storm bolter one handed making them much better in combat. The extra 8 pts is worth it.
Does he suspect one of us of heresy?
He is an inquistitor; they suspect everyone of heresy...
They can't use storm bolters one handed, only grey knights can do that and even then not in termie armor.
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
As already mentioned - WG get termie armour for cheap, but all weapons and wore gear are in addition to the cost of the termie armour.
Ok this doesn't work out cheap, but you gotta love the ability to mix up the weapons. I like the combo of assault cannon and cyclone missile launcher (not on the same WG!), mix up storm bolters with powerfists/chainfists/single lightning claw, then throw in a couple of close combat specialists as well, gotta love pairs of LC's and then thunderhammers and storm shieds. Drop pod these into play with a Wolf Priest in termie armour and you have a firing menace, that when they do get to charge - and they will due to 2+ saves/5+ invulnerables/healing balms and potions they are going to slaughter anything near them!
So bite the bullet and just do it!
Also SW have the ability to mix up power armour and termie armour in WGBG, so if points are tight, why not get the termie HW and power armour the other half of the bodyguard, that way you can take PA SW's off the field before the TA's (stupid mixed armour rule - beware can be very nasty!!!)
Space Wolves are badasses that operate just barely within the rules.
13th Co. didn't even know there were rules applying to how badass they could be.
... and Daemonhunters make it three - now just need a spare room to store it all!!!
