I'm thinking of beginning a puritan DH force and want to know which one is better an Grand Master or a pimped up inquisitor.
I'm planning to only use daemon hunters with the exeption of my HQ if the =I= is better.
Don´t mess with the dicegod
Depends on what you fight the most. If you are wanting to kill in hand to hand the GM is by far better than the inquisitor. The good thing about an inquisitor is you can geta retinue cheaper than get ting GKTs for th GM.
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
The Grand Master is by far a better CC squad with his Retinue, so if that is what you want take him. A Brother Captain is a smart choice for smaller games too. I like him in games less than 1700pts.
If it is a shooty HQ you want, a =][= Lord with Plasma Cannon, 2 x HB Servitors, a couple Sages and a Mystic or two is cheaper and puts a lot of great firepower out, something which deamonhunters need. With him, you can also take an Assassin.

THe GreyKnight Hero is the better choice because he allows you to take vehicles. The Inquisitor can make a pretty nasty shooting unit, but don't even try to make a CC inquisitor with Daemonhunters, the GKs are much better at it. And before you decide on a Grandmaster I would search for the thread on which Hero is better; both are pretty good, but for the points of a grandmaster you can pick up some extra termies, and with high prices of puritan deamonhunter armies model count is important.
