I need some information and it is this:
If I start a BT army, will I find myself HAVING to buy regular SM Tactical Squads and then a further upgrade sprue or does the BT line of models now have specific troops (such as the Crusader Squad) that mean you can buy troops without having to then spend further on upgrading them?
Does my first question make sense?
you can buy normal tactical squads and not buy the upgrades, but that would look crappy.
what most BT players do is they buy space wolve blood claws and the upgrade kit.
so you dont HAVE to but most BT players do. who cares about spending a little extra t make them look good.
So is there a difference between buying the Crusader Squad box set and buying a normal Tactical Squad with the Upgrade sprue?
that depends on what your arming them with.
If your gonna go all bolt pistols, youll need something with more bolt pistols (thats because they dont give you enough of them)
Which is why people often buy blood claws + Bts.
So you can give them all CCWs + Bolt pistols, and look BT ish.
There are enough bolters however, to go all bolters, but then you might as well not use BTs if your gonna make bolter marines.
You can better have a mix of 6CCW to 4 bolters in your squads if you want to be compeditive. In this way you can play abit in defense and if you want to assault you take away the bolters first.
a squad that I recommend is:
10 men crusader squad 5 CCW and 3 bolters
1 melta gun
Don´t mess with the dicegod
they dont make the crusader box anymore, you can only buy the upgrade box. so you can either get a SW blood claws box + BT upgrade box OR you can get a tactical squad Box + BT upgrade Box.
Most BT players get the blood claws box so they can arm there crusaders with chainsword and boltpistols.
Thanks for the help folks. It all makes sense now!
Really appreciate it.
