hello fellow ig players,
I've got a pretty good combination of heavy support for your army. Mostly the guardsmen are used to draw out the enemy into range of your battle cannons or earth shaker cannons. But if you use sm's in your army you should get a predator with all lascannons. When i was battling i drew out the other army (orks) they did consalidate once but it was worth it i destroyed almost one full squad of orks and i destroyed the warboss and the 3 nobs with it. From the start of the game i was nailing the orks with shot after shot of ordanance. Once in close combat I knew one of the times he will not succed the consalidation and i will be able to nail withmy ordanence shot so guess what happend
......thats right what i said would happen did thats how if come to find out this good set of hs. But it also depends on what type of game yoou like to play like defensive, offensive, hit and run, or just dont have any.

Wait, first of all, how are space marines allied to the guard, it can't be done.
As for the ordnance, take three demolishers, that way you can get past that pesky Terminator Armor and Mega Armored Nobz.
You dont have the chances of getting that claose to sm's any wayso they wont work against sm's. Second yes they can the rules for that are 1hq from each army 2 troops from each army and only 3 of everything else elites.....exc thats how it can be done.
I am afraid they actually are. movement of 6" + 24" is 30" and thats usually the distance of the two deployment zones. if not in range, they get 42" of HBs, 3 of them hurt SMs to and in turn 2, the d-cannon is in range.
They can only move 12" not 30. and you cant shoot a ordnance moving over 6" and the spaces have lascannons which will blow it up easily
What he means is he has an effective range of 30".
That's to say, he moves 6", and can fire his Demolisher Cannon, and because of the board sizes, which usually end up 12" between deployment zones, there is a good scope for range.
Personally, I think the best combo is Leman Russ, Leman Russ, Demolisher.
That way, you've got excellent long-ranged fire, and devastating close range fire. Always worked well for me.

i find that the HW platoons are a waste of typing, if you can field them in each command squad and in a gaurd squad, u dont really need more
