Hi i have a 2 questions
1# can a land speader tornado take a multi melta and a assult cannon iam just wonder if that legal because i check in the codex and says nothing about it so i figured id ask u guys.
2# i got 2 heavy supports down and there whirl winds mostly use them for challing troop movements now iam wondering what i should use as my 3rd choice
iam running iron hands so i have 3 dreads alerdy i mostly use the dread for fire support with ML/AC combo so iam wondering what i should take for my 3rd heavy support choice
OK answer no#1 tornados can either have multi melta, heavy flamer or assalt cannon
heavy bolter. the only way it can have multi melta assalt cannon is in the
dark angel ravenwing and it costs 95 pts(i think)
no#2 i would go with a peadator annilator with lascannon sponsons.
how many of your dread have assalt cannons?
all the dreads have AC's
stompy answered the question, so i will tell you why you can't have the AC/MM combo. In order for you to have an assault cannon you need a heavy bolter, and since you exchanged it for a multimelta it is no longer there to be ued as an option. Under stand now?
Since the whirlwinds stay out of sight, i would give 2 of your dreads ML/TLL combo instead, as it is better for anti tank. Take another dread and give the 2 remaining dreds the DCCW/AC combo, this gears the towards anti infantry, giving you a balanced and solid choice of dreadnaughts. If you have thepoints, Drop Pods would really complement the DCCW/AC dreads allowing them to get into range a lot quicker.

For your third choice i would go with a vindicator. I mean how can you not want one. Not only is it a powerful tank in the game and can easily make double its points back in the right situation, but it is an awsome psycological weapon as well. And any time you can make your opponent doubt himself or his battle plan then it is worth it.

the only problem with a vindicator is its short range. getting it into range can b a problem as the enemy will make it one of his top priorities of things to kill. But if you keep it in cover and add power of the machine spirit, it can be worth it, but I would prefer the dreadnought as it frees up more points.Originally Posted by Deek

By the sound of things, his Iron Hands are pretty shooty, so it's fairly likely that the enemy will want to come towards the Hands to engage them in combat, which solves the range problem of the Vindicator without spending a single point. I agree that in most cases another Heavy Support choice would be better, but it's something to consider.Originally Posted by Helbrecht
That being said, I think that you may find a Devastator Squad to be handy. The standard 8 men, 4 with Missile Launchers for an even 200 points is one of the better buys for the Space Marines, and will compliment the tank busting ability of your Dreadnoughts, as well as add a measure of anti-light infantry firepower to your army.
Firedrake28 hit the point dead on. What with 2 Whirlwinds and 3 dreads allready his model count has to be kinda low. Adding another Tank is just begging for a but load of anti tank shots to kill it, however the Dev squad is very resiliant not to mention being flexible. My heavy list starts with the 4ML Dev squad and goes on from there. Rep for you Firedrake28.
breath, sight, squeeze.
now double tap just for grins
and Another One bite's the dust.
A bolter round for all that oppose the Emperor.
so what should i do with my go 2 LS/Ml and one Ac/CCA
for my extra heavy support choice iam eather selting on anouther dread or a vindicator , devy squad
