Is there any BT players out there who use CS's or think they are useful? I haven't seen anyone take them before. I was thinking about having a Chaplin with 3 CS's join a squad of 10 Initiates and 10 Neophytes. The squad then can move up to an extra 9'... EXTRA 9'! The squad should still be big enough to take on most squads of anything.
Black Templars 3000 points
Tau Empire 1750 points
Tyranids 1500 points
Hordes of Chaos *Coming soon*
Yeah, I ran 3 of them with 10 Initiates, 10 Neophytes, 1 Reclisarch, 1 EC in a 1000 pt game, and when they got shot... look out! The nice thing about them also, is they are 3 more warm bodies to take hits away from your neophytes & initiates.
Problem was, once my opponent figured it out (game 2), he avoided shooting at the unit at all, and went after my dreadnoughts & other units, so they kind of didn't really do anything besides die in CC. Overall I like them, however.
Ive been playing a BT command squad with a reclusiarch, 2 CS, Marshal, and 10 initiates
and they work very effectively in there! the extra move works quite well. and also the shooting doesnt affect them that much! the shooting usually doesnt affect them anyway. because they wont be taken out until there are more of them than initiates... due to the mixed armour rules. but alot of the time theyll get into combat and slaughter anything thats hanging around!!! i usually put other bait on the field to stop them from being shot at too much!!! :shifty: but they work quite well for me

Error: The new mixed armour rules make you roll for them if there are enough hits to cover them: ec: 8 hits on a squad of 6 initiates with 2 CS makes you roll 6 3+ saves and 2 CS saves (don't know the save value).
