Are Yarik, col. Schaeffer etc. special characters?

    hi guys,

i was wondering if yarik and the lot were special characters and as such can only be used when having the permission of your opponent.
their etries look like it (speaking of design) but it's nowhere written that they actually are, hence they can always be taken.

    what do you suggest?

    greets,
    micro

They are special characters. But in newly produced codicies, special characters no longer require opponent's permission.

I don't mean to be a jerk here...But aren't those people mentioned in the "Special Characters" portion of the book?

    *shakes head*

you`re right ghandi, they are. however, in the codices of other races, the characters are specialy described as such, including the reminder that they may only be taken when having permission. in my IG dex, it doesn`t. so that's why i asked.
