hey all has anyone ever taken 9 strength 6 force wepon attacks because the other day i saw a game in whcih a spacemarine army with allied greyknights ofought against chaos. the chaos player summoned a blood thirster and charge a unit of termies with GM and a codicier
in cover so the GM goes first ( the codicer was in the back who then casts might of heroes on the GM and gets a 5) 9 attacks later and the blood thirster is a roting corpse
i was just wondering if any one else has ever done this because it seems preety useful
you can only get up to 3 more attacks with might of heros. It is a d3 roll, not a d6 roll. Not that having 7 strength 6 force weapon attacks is too much worse than having 9...really you are going to kill what you want, and then waste the rest because it doesn't take 7 Grandmaster attacks to kill anything, except maybe a C'tan (would be nice against a wraithlord too I guess).
okay... Grandmaster has 4 attacks anyway. so thats 4 down
Codicier, might of heroes on a 5 gives another 3 attacks so that is a total of 7...
thats how many he could have normally... if he was also charging he could have 8 and if he had another 1 handed weapon instead of the storm bolder he could have 9...
So 9 is possible when charging, 8 if not charging... And 8 attacks from a power weapon are enough to kill even if he didnt use his "force" ability.
My GM model (the brother captain stern one) has been converted to carry an extra hand weapon. Its just a shame that the cheapest other hand weapon for a model in terminator armour is a power weapon.
BUT, the fact is that, yes, it is possible for a GM model to have 9 attacks on the charge.
Also, my GM rarely goes off to kill things without a master craft so thats a reroll on a missed hit as well.
I dont think this kind of GM would (or should) be used solely for daemon killing. Can you imagine the mess he would make in a unit of chaos terminators with sacred incence or how easily he would clean up entire tactical squads with almost no support whatsoever.
Its more an itimidation factor that is the most useful IMO. People who see an army as unbeatable or hard to beat more often than not lose because they just make silly mistakes.
And the GK GM does have that affect on some people.
