which is a better option for my space marines, drop pods or infiltration. both would cost me about the same for one of my tactical squads(24pt for infiltration, 30pt for drop pods. each of my tactical squads is 8 men strong, and has a sergeant with powerweapon and termie honors, and one meltagun. also, i was wondering if there is a limit to the number of skills space marines can have. currently all my space marines have trust your battle brothers and i was wondering if they can still take infiltration.
I'd say that Infiltrate isn't quite as good as Drop Podding, because in Alpha Level scenerios you'l find your army unable to Infiltrate, which means you've wasted a lot of points, whereas Drop Pods work in all standard missions. Also, you can do all kinds of sneaky things with Drop Pods, like using them as a way to block Line of Sight, and even to shoot the enemy!
To answer your other question, as long as you aren't taking more Traits than allowed by the Codex, there isn't any limit to the number of skills you take. Just remember: units with multiple skills are very expensive, and die just as easily as any other Marine.
My Space Marine army uses the "See but don't be seen" trait and I always infiltrate my tactical squads into a good position. However there is the "Alpha" scenerio where you can't infiltrate and I've wasted my points. I also find that Infiltrating doesn't get you as cose in as you might like and usually sets your marines up for a slaughter espescailly if you're playing a shotty army like Tau or Imperial Gaurd. Drop Pods on the other hand can never be stopped in any scenerio and allow you to get your troops right into the fray of battle. Using the example of the shooty armies, when you have 3 marine squads drop in on you it can be a very scary thing. So I say go with Drop pods instead of infiltrating.
As far as skills go, no, there is no limit to how many they can have as long as it is legally purchased with points. Skills for large groups of infantry rack up points very quickly and you'll find yourself with no points left sooner then you realize. A few usefull skills like tank hunters for Devastators, or Furious charge for assault and sometimes tactical squads are a good use of points, but when you're putting 3 or 4 skills on every unit its a huge waste of points becuase you'll probably not get to use all of them in a single game. Even if you do use them all they cost so much it won't be worth having them.

It really depends on what level of game you're playing and what points.
As others have said, if there's any chance of playing an alpha level, it ain't worth it, and as I recently found out, infiltrating a bunch of dudes in an 1,850 game isn't a great idea as by the time he sets all of his units out, you probably won't have much room to effectively deploy infiltrators.
Of course, they are on the table in a predictable manner, where drop pods will show up willy-nilly.
It's hard to say which one is better really, it just depends on the rest of your army and how you usually play it.
We all carry on,
When our brothers in arms are gone.
So raise your glass high
For tomorrow we die,
And return from the ashes you call.
