Why can't assault marines that have removed there jump packs take drop pods/ Is this a rules hole or is there some special reason that GW didn't put that in there?

I guess they thought that if the assault marines wanted to get anywhere fast they would keep their jump packs on. They already get to deepstrike with the jump packs, the only reason to take them off is because your trying to save points (or other reasons..)
Actually, I think it would make sense that they should. They no longer have the packs, thus can fit in transports.
I'm with zombiekiller, if you want to get there fast, keep the packs. After all, you can get BP's and CCW's in a Drop Pod, take a Command Squad.
Darn GW and their ambiguousness.
