so far i got this
Heroic Senior Officer
1st Troop Choice
2nd Troop Choice
Ditto as the first
It comes out to 505 points. So what do think and what doctrines should i take?
There is a Guard army list sub-forum where you post your lists so dont post them here
As to the list drop the vox network and get in some heavy bolters and plsama guns as in 500 points you dont need that much anti-tank
Use the points saved on the voxs to get one more squad
"Hey sarge, this lasgun is heavy. I wish we had something lighter."
FF7: ABOUT RANDOM BATTLES
ya, and the doctrines cost points to give to squads, so at the moment you should take none
i also agree with KOS
Heroic Senior Officers are overkill in such a small army. Downgrade him to a Junior Officer.
Your army contains no fast or mobile units, so a voxnet is completley uneccessary, so drop anything voxrelated, keeping your men within 12" of an officer is just as good, but doesn't cost you any points, so there, that's 85p remaining for a 500p army. Dropping two missile launchers for heavy bolters brings that up to 95p left to spend.
For those points I'd give the Command Platoon's Command Squad a Veteran with a Company Standard and I'd pick Iron Discipline as my first doctrine, giving it to all three officers. So that's 69p left to spend on heavy weapons for your command squads who're currently running naked. Personally, I'd suggest two autocannons for the infantry platoon command squads and a mortar for the command platoon one. With that, 29p left, now I'd add in some special weapons, say, a plasmagun in each of the missile launcher squads and a grenade launcher with any of the heavy bolters.
This comes to 499p, you're got the same number of men on the field, all of your men should be under a ld8 bubble of an officer with iron discipline, one of the bubbles being ld8-reroll and the firepower of your army has increased by alot by varied weaponary letting you get a feel of which ones you like. Personally, I love autocannons.
maybe this goes without saying, but you may as well take close order drill. it's free and increases their leadership/initiative.
I agree that the HSO is overkill, but if you really want one just take the JO and give him the Honorifica imperialis. doing this will savy you five points.
I also cast my vote for autocannons. they fire less shots, but I find they kill more things.
i dont trust the autos, they dont work for me, the hbs are better adn, i believe cheaper
