I justed got started on an Imperial Guard army this last week. I only have one box of infantry so far. I was looking at the battle force box to bulk up my force real fast. Nothing I can find says anything about a command squad though. Can that be right? One infantry platoon and a tank? Hardly seems like a 'force' of any sort. Its not even playable. More like a random group of some guys than a battle force. Maybe its cheaper to buy the set than individually? I dunno /shrug
It's not meant to be a playable army, but a bunch of models that will be normally placed in an army. That's how I see Battleforces, anyways.
If you compare the individual prices, though, with the Battleforce price, you'll be pleasantly surprised:
$35 (Infantry) + $35 (Heavy Weapons) + $45 (Leman Russ) = $115.
Battleforce, with all of the above included = $90.
Saving $25 is a pretty decent deal, in my book. That's why I bought two of the Tau Battleforces.
Rather than spending the $50 on the rather rip-off 5 model HQ, I'd buy another Infantry box and convert my HQ. Then once I'm done I've got an extra 15 gaurdsmen.Originally Posted by Crusade
