I hope I'm misunderstanding the codex. Please, tell me I am wrong. You can only use a combi-melta once IN AN ENTIRE GAME.!?! Is this correct? If so, why would a person get one for thier commanders or vet sgts?
pls explain, thanks.
you can only use the COMBI part once per battle (melta, plasma, or flamer)
the BOLTER part may be fired as many times as you want
combi weapons are not a common choice since they are 2 handed and dont allow the person wielding them to get the extra attack, but on terminators they are quite handy since they aren't getting the extra attack anyways. my personal favorite is equipping a terminator sgt with a combi plasma as it shooting twice at 12" can easily make up for its points.

You may only use the melta part once in the game. After that is used, it may be fired as a normal bolter. You may also choose to fire it as a normal bolter while the melta shot stillremains. Basically, you get a bolter, and a one-shot meltagun. I personally despise combi-weapons, though they can look cool. I find them highly inefficient and a waste of points. I never use them. Just my opinion.
EDIT: That's an excellent point, nehring, that I never would have thought of since I do not have any termies atm.

Remember, give people rep if they help you.
I have been experimenting with my Lord, in power armor, using a combiflamer. I figure his job, is to get into combat, and even though he can't shoot the bolter and charge, he can shoot that flamer. Usually a lord only lasts 2-3 round when you get them into assault, and what better weapon to charge with then a flamer. I do loose the extra attack, but he has a good amount of them anyway.
