Is it in any of the IA books?
In the SM codex in the traits portion they are described as having:
Wise: Head the wisdom of the Ancients & Scions of Mars
Drawback: Eye to Eye
Pg 45 of Space Marines Codex
I know, but i've heard they have special rules for unique HQ units (iron fathers) and stuff, and I was wondering where I can find those?
Oh, I don't think they are in 4th ed. However, realize that with Scions of Mars you can take a Techmarine as a HQ (they get an extra wound so they are in line with other tier 1 HQ) and you can give them a full servo harness which is beatings. You could them call them an Iron Father.
Those rules aren't allowed anymore. You have to use the rules from Codex: Space Marines, unless your opponent agrees otherwise. In a tournament, you're stuck with the Dex.
Oh, that's kind of lame
Well, thanks anyway.
the 3e Iron Father used basically the chapter commander statblock, had a mechanicus protectiva and access to all the techmarine equipment from the armory.Originally Posted by fadam

It's all overridden with the new trait rules, of course.
