Okay, since I am till barely starting GK, even though I know everything about them, I need help to choose out what I want to get.
I'm thinking of getting Coteaz and rip off the birdie, and making him have some normal bolter thing, (if possible). And then get 2 squads of GK, then a termie squaddie, and hten maybe some IG, like, 2 armoured fist squads, and then a Leman Russ. (Anti tanker OWNAGE! Is this any good as a start? I need help!
Help me please!
Friendly neighbourhood, Crazed Grey Knight
sounds damn good, maybe you might want to pick up a squad of sentenals for lower points games. Make sure you know what you want your GK to do (fast attack get incinerators, troops, get psycannons, or for fast attack get a combo of both if you want) I know you dont want to put a Gm in your army but listen to all of us, this guy can win games for you. Nothing can stop him in close combat. Overall good luck and you are off to a good start. Oh yeah drop coteaz and just get an inquisior and build his retinue off of what you want, most of the models in the inquisitor box set are useless in my opinion.
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
I got an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor. I guess I can use that. And thanks for that fast attack stuff. And yes GMs are like my favorite Unit. I plan on getting a terminator box in, oh about 3 years? LOL
Don't bother with the box in small games. Pick up BC Stern as your GM, and buy three Terminator blisters. Here's Elan's idea of a core army:
GK GM with 5 GK Termie retinue
2 6 man squads of GK in power armor, each with a psycannon (in squad included)
1 10 man squad of GK in power armor
Dreadie with TL Lascannon and incinerator
Brother-Captain Stern ($15)
5 Grey Knight Terminators ($50)
4 Boxes of Grey Knights in power armor ($100)
One Grey Knights Dreadnought ($58 from FW with two arms, $50 for the conversion kit from GW)
That come out to $223 US. That's not bad. That's pure GK, though...
Well my first choice was pure GK anyways. I'm tearing up my descions here. But that list is excellent. Thanks Inuo.
Edit: Funny, I see no conversion kit.
Edit2: And dreadies cant have TL Laz cannons. Or can they
Dreads can have TLLC. In fact, the "usual" GK dread has a TLLC and ML for true anti-tank working. Regular GK can usually handle CC, so many replace the power fist (I do) at least on one of them. I have thought of fielding a 3 dread 1500 point list, but haven't had the chance. If I ever do that I will likely leave one of the fists and take an incinerator.
That list is a pretty decent pure GK list. Unfortunately for pure GK in games less than 1500 that's about what you can take to remain competitive. A small amount of terminators, and then lots of GK in power armor and a dread or two for anti-tank support. Once you start getting over 1500 you can start taking more options like purgation squads, LRs, a lot of termies, etc... although pure GK really still do well focusing and taking mostly the GK in power armor. These guys really do well all on their own.
Forgot...the kit is in the US store only...remember, we had a discussion about this?
Yes but I cant find it in the US online stort Inuo. And I just remembered that the y DO have TWLC. I just could'nt remember. I plan on getting a shiat load of termies and GK. I want to PURGE THE DARKNESS FROM THE CRACKS OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!! ROAR.
Lol. i recon 3 dreadnoughts would b pretty good espicially when u verse an army that has a large amount of tanks. They can also give u're grey knights cover fire while they take care of the close combat.
'No evil will escape the just punishment of rightenous'
Yea, a Dread is a cheaper and more effective unit than any comparable firepower GK can field (unless you REALLY want to take all those damn allies). Two or three of them in the back would provide infinitely better support than IST's or a shooty IL. Then again, there's that whole "drawing fire like it's their job" thing.
