Well... in order to dodge work and stuff (should've done some work from home) I decided to photograph all my IG models (painted or not) and display them on a site, together with various other things relating to my army.
In the end it'll have a short description of my army, pics of everything (well, it already does), a page where I'll keep tabs on the battles they've fought and various articles I decide to write (painting, terrain making or just bantering) relating to my army.
It's basically just a place holder for different stuff, that's why the design is a 30 minute job. =)
It'll improve over time though...
Oh, the url? Heh... http://40k.godzilla.se
And well, if this is inapropriate advertising... bummer. =D
Your colour sceam looks good, very classic, but you should have put them on a snow plane set.
I like the orange and black of the site, but be causious about copyright laws when using the twin headed eagle.............sorry, but you should check that.
A Rhino? SLOTH!
As all of my terrain, and the board itself is based on a desert theme (for Gorka Morka) I decided I'd go with desert bases.
Mordians (which are actually the main force of my army) aren't known for skulking about - thus I didn't want to do a colour scheme based on the terrain's theme. I really don't think camouflage has any place in the 41st millennium either... hardly any of the other armies bother with it, why should my IG?
Regarding the eagle... there's no reason for anyone (and GW in the least) to be upset about it and take any actions as it doesn't deterr from their huge earnings, and it doesn't give me anything except a slightly prettier logo. If I should worry about something, it should be my domain.
There will be a copyright notice in the bottom of the site's every page though - I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Nicly done Phreedh
When goblins blow themselves up its stupidity. But when humans blow themselves up its bravery....odd isn't it
As I have said before your painting is clean, but shouldn't this be in the advert section?
<a href="http://www.liquidgeneration.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.liquidgeneration.com/quiz...nake.jpg" border="0"></a>
Advert section? Didn't even know of any advert section. No idea, really... Don't see what's being advertised - I'm just posting a link to a site with my army's info, instead of posting the actual info here. There's nothing in it for me... It's not like "hey I made this really kick-ass 40k site, come visit, it rawks" as I think it's just a load of crap on my web server.
If it's in the advert section, I would never had spotted it myself. I only check the IG forum, and occasionally the painting or scenery section of the boards... I think the same goes for a bunch of other IG players, who are the ones who could possibly be interested in my army.
yea, i only check this forum and the strategies forum. but on another note, how did you get your background for the site?
o ya and the link isn't workin right now

What background do you mean? The orange? It's just a color defined in the html code.
If you mean the eagle in the logo, I really couldn't tell. I spotted it somewhere ages ago, think I was searching for imperial guard images on google. Downloaded it and stuffed it away, thinking it could be useful for the future when building terrain, using it as a template.
Yeah, I've noticed that the host gives 500-errors from time to time... Think I'll have to check that with the host supplier.
ohhh i thought there was some kinda design on the background....must've been thinkin of somethin else
