Im looking into starting a cult of chaos army... Probabaly slaanesh so dont think khorne or close combat orented...
Also i dont like LaTD, mainly A) because its not tourny legal. I would much rather field guard with cool doctrines...
What doctrines would you use to make a cult army...
All the abhumans ones from white dwarf 302ish seam really inviting.
As well as possably jungle fighters or light infantry (something that lets them infiltrate)
Also what units would you take alot of and take none of...??

well i personally dont like RRs, but thats cuz of the models(and im too lazy to convert soem) adn im not taht fond of demolishers, though if you are infultrating, they may be good, i try to avoid most of the advisors, but i do use one commissiar, and i dont use any sentinels, for they are pretty pricy money wisem other than that i think most of the usnits are fairly decent
and i like the idea of a cult army, there are even FW bits out to make some rather cool looking traitors, though i dont have a like, there is one somewhere
I didnt realise LaTD wasnt tournie legal as its in ah yes i see now lol
As for abhuman doctrines i dont think they are tournie legal but if you use the normal ones you could do it i suppose il have a go so see the following;
For slaanesh isnt that sort of sorcery and deamonette stuff?
If it is use chem inhalers as they are fluffy for hedonistic types. perhaps camo as it could be justified as a haze type thing similar to the slaaneshi marine rules. um well if you want to infiltrate then its going to have to be light infantry which actually works well with camo!
As for units well i cant see them being chunky or assaulty that seems to fit khorne far more, as they are cultists perhaps poorly armed so conscripts in their somewhere (thats doctrine 4). obviously normal infantry but avoid the best weapons such as lascannons as then you could fit it with a cultist theme. hmm perhaps use plasma as the hedonism may make them not care about danger. Rough riders but convert slaaneshi demonettes on beasts as rough riders.
I think subtle conversions would look fantastic such as bits of demonettes (ie arms) for officer power weapons for example. As for tanks id avoid them if you want a cult army although perhaps one or two 'relics' would open up conversion possibilities.
Sounds like a fantastic idea good luck with it!
hope the above helps
What a great question!
I have a secret affection for Slaneesh... oops, Ive said too much.
Slaaneesh is typically sleek and seductive, so light infantry might work.
Iron discipline, for sure. Cultists always revere their cult leaders.
Die hards probably too.
Close order drill I think can work too. An orgy of bodies would only spur them on, and the whole mob mentality argument as well.
I agree with Lestat that Chem inhalers with the right spin could also work.
It's worth a krak!
Double post. How did that happen!?!

Well choas armys have a lot of untrained men with any weapons that they can get there hands on. Most of the time a hive or city gets corrupted by choas and the whole population take up arms and try to overpower the world from within.
So you sould take as many conscripts that you can fit in as most choas troops are untrained and the conscripts low stats would fit in with this.
Any guard tanks would be fine to use as choas loot anything they can just be sure to paint some choas symbols on it to give it that choas feel.
Die hards would fit well as choas troops run into battle with no fear whatoever but die hards is a bit naff as there are a lot better things that you could use.
