alright well i have alot of questions, what does a commisar in a tank do? whats his purpose i know its somethign about getting 50% of your tanks blown up but i dont know what.
when you buy leman russ as troop choices do they have to stay with the tank they were bought for? like when you buy a company commander in vanquisher, and 2 leman russ, would the leman russ be like in a squadron with the vanquisher?
would it be good to have troops in your army? like 3 armoured fist squads with plasma guns and missle launchers? or sentinels with lascannons and 2 armoured fist?
or what about 3 squads of sentinels? just thinking of possabilities. i know armoured companys cant really hold ground, and only 2 ten man squads is not that much infantry, even 3 isnt that much. im working on a 3000 pt. lisst now
thanx for all the help, its appreciated
Well with the commissar n the tank, dunno really, never heard of it. I have the CA 2004 book with the aromored company in it. I'd imagine the commissar is for an HQ tank or a tank ace.
As for the tanks, the HQ tank I think can be independent. As for the troop choices they would be in a squadron of there own. So my guess is no.
I would definatly take troops in chimeras. Im guessing you don't know modern tactics much, OR just really don't care. But if you have just tanks, they would get swarmed by even space marines. Having infatry support is a crucial thing in my mind. For instance, I played a game with two Leman Russ's against eight-teen eldar guardians. They had there heavy weapons and all, but there mobility is what made me stagger. I was almost comletly surrounded geting hell from two sides...........So the lesson learned is to take infantry support.
Having sentinals would be great, the only problem is there armor. It sucks x10. Only ten all around is what made me not want to buy them. Sure with all there special rules they are great units. Im just not a fan of using tin foil as armor.
And yes, you are completly right. Ten guardsmen is usually not enough to hold a flank. But thirty guardsmen and three chimeras is(at least for me). I would definatly have armored fist squads over sentinals.
When goblins blow themselves up its stupidity. But when humans blow themselves up its bravery....odd isn't it
