Lately I've been deep striking my land speeder with multi-melta behind tanks and (attempt) to blow them up, but i miss every time and next turn it gets blown up
any advice, anyone? coz that's a big waste of points
Guess what, you can no longer do that.
With the new FaQ, landspeeders count as moving more than 12" if they deepstrike
Poor Speeders. Yes they aren't allowed to shoot after deep striking, and deep striking speeders isn't that great anyways. Landspeeders are very versatile on the ground. Just move them up the field behind cover then pop out and destroy your enemies tanks. This prevents them from getting torn apart when they drop. Don't drop, just move. Peace,

They'll get blown up anyways, trust me. However, it DOES allow you to get a few more shots off (and thus hit every once in a while) before it crashes. 24" range isn't at all that bad, and with the multi-melta stats you're bound to do at least some damage...Originally Posted by blood_angelmarine
so yeah, just fly them up the board instead of deep-striking...

One DS Landspeeder won't do anything. Several squads and a Dreadnought deepstriking while supported by a Landspeeder Squad will. Even if they could deepstrike and fire, they'd be gone. They're giant targets ( I've always said) and if they're the only targets, all lascannons on you.
Get Terminators and a Dreadnought to go in for you, and have Landspeeders slide up the side to support them.
