I was talking to a friend about adding some Heavy Support to my army, and I mentioned a Land Raider Crusader. He said that could be taken as a transport. I'm pretty sure he's wrong, or else that's one bad motherfu***ing tranport. Could anyone clear this up? I think it was mentioned in a White Dwarf a while back....Thanks in advance for any responses received.
It's a heavy support pick with transport capability.
The entry in Codex: Armageddon may cause some confusion since it has a characteristic listed called 'transport'. That does not mean it is a transport, only that it has transport capability.
Units that are able to take a Land Raider as a transport do not get to substitute a Crusader.
I can take a landraider as a transport for my honrguards but it can't be a crusader. I'm pretty sure they are always heavy.
I dont know about the cruisader but the regular landraider can be taken as a transport for hq, and SOME elite choices cant it? And what about Black templars. I bet their terminator squads can get the cruisader as a transport.
most all marine's can add a Crusader (1 except for the BT's that get more). It's usually a HEAVY choice. So you would deploy it and then deploy the troop choice that goes in it.....well, in it!
same goes if you are taking a regular landraider.
The crusader can fit 15 marines (usually 10 power armor marines and 5 scouts, in the case of the BT's Neophytes). remember, only 1 unit can be in the thing, unless there is a Indi character with them!
