Am new to this , as I mentioned in my Intro yesterday. Have yet to play my first game. Unlike some of the seasoned players I watched at Hobbytown last week (some of whom don't even bother, it seems, to paint their armies!) I am as in to the looks of my solders as I hope to become in to their performance on the field. Saw someone with a magnificent looking Tyrannid army and thought how incredible it would look to see my Battle Sisters go up against them (okay, okay the whole thing about appearances probably seems lame, but, hey, my Repentia Mistress may wind up on the cover of Maxim, okay?)
Anyway, my question is, would Battle sisters even fight 'Nids? Would the Ordo hereticus even thinK twice about getting involved with them?
If so, any tips on strategy (and no, I don't own an Exorcist. Can't even find one!)
Ok, that has to be the best quote ever!Originally Posted by Sartorious
As for Nids, never played/seen them so don't know too mcuh, but I'm pretty sure some of them are psykers, which the Ordo Herectis out to squish. Furthermore, I can see Nids as one of the top targets on the Ordo's list, maybe not as high as Chaos, but I can see them wanting them destroyed just as much. Though, who fights who is really only a fluff point, any army can fight any army and in tournaments it happens. In a themed tourney there may be restrictions, but in a general toruney you may have to have your Sisters fight other Sisters...
As for the Exo, you can only get it through GW Mail Order or on Ebay, either way you're looking at $60 :/ Other options are to convert one, many players use a sister's immolator and put a Whirlwind Missle launcher on it.
After you play a while you gradually realise that each codex is just as good as the other in different respect, so yes you can have quite an even fight against nids. There is a but however. This is limited to how you build your army essentially or the army build you are playing against.
If you're playing a friend who isn't bent on going for a powergamers army (an army that takes all the best bits and fills out the compulsory stuff with the bar minimun) and is quite happy with a relaxed game then I should think you won't have any problems. Against more competetive players you may have to start building your army to counter specific aspects of their force.
Something that will really hurt them is your flamer s which will be able to clear most broods with ease as will the heavy bolters.
I would try and stay far away from genestealers though since they can tear our sisters apart.
Do you have any Penitent Engines or Arco Flagellants yet? Like Hero said, just build up with Sister squads and flame the Aliens back to their graves! Take a Retributor squad and sit at the back blowing them apart! Ranged firepower is your ally here! When they home in on you release your Arcos and Penitents on the leftovers! Then send your Canoness into the biggest monster faith her up bigtime then annihilate the monsters! If you can afford it get a bombardment readied up also! Game over!

Thanks everybody for the ongoing advice. As I continnue to mention, I am new to this.
Cold someone explain to me why, next to my original message, in the column that lists my stats and makes it known that I have no warnings (thank you very much!) there is a star with a (o) next to it that says that I am becoming decadent! Well, I have been decadent since before many of you were born, but what does the person who wrote that mean?
Okay the star is your rep and if someone helps you out you can clikc on the star to give em more as for the comments i can't explain.
Here's a thought. . .
Instead of launching my sisters in a full frontal assualt against those nasty little sharkroaches, perhaps my Canoness could communicate with them, you know, somehow get through to them. I know, she could be The Nid Whisperer:yes:
Can't you just see that on the cover of a Dan Abnett, blacklibrary novel?
Okay, so I watch too much t.v.
Does the Eye of Terror Never Blink?
I have no flagallents and no as yet no Penitent engines (as I understand the rules of the game, my army isn't large enough yet for me to be able to use a penitent engine--I can't recall off the top of my head the size army required, as well you need a priest in your ranks because they are the only ones who can actually activate the use of an engine.)
However, I really REALLY want an exorcist! I want one first and foremost because I thank they are incredible looking and desperately want to build and paint one. Later I'll worry about building the sized army that allows me to use it and then I'll pulverize tyrannids!
GW on-line store doesn't seem to carry them and the Amazon lists them, they don't currently have any.
Is the only way to do this to convert a Rhino. I imagine that buying the Rhino and all of the necessary bits seperately would cost more than just getting the original complete kit, yes?
Sartorius you have to email GW and ask them were it is. And they will tell you a number you have to call to get it but its about 50$ so I just purchased an immolator and I am converting it.
The Exorcist is still available, but only via phone mail order. Please
give us a call at 1-800-394-4263 if you would like to order one. Her eis the reply from the email i sent them.

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
Are you those people?
